I'd say it was quite accurate. Bumbles words 'i can't believe this is an international side batting'.

Spot on.

It is a 20-20 match today. We have mainly steady batters trying to play quicker than they are usually comfortable with against a decent attack. Anyone would think we were playing the Red Lion 2nd 11 and 100 short with 2 balls to go the way you're throwing your arms in the air

It was basically a run a ball. A run a ball. It was not needing any massive slog fest. That batting was abysmally poor and no real excuse for some of the shots we gave wickets away with. Yes India are a good side. Even so we threw that away ourselves. Not once but twice.

Poor batting and not good enough on the day. Not the same as utterly embarrassing.

Which we didn't achieve. We batted poorly, but once again you've gone characteristically way over the top with your 'embarrassing' assessment, Old Sport.

Was a fantastic game with brilliance and feck ups from both sides. The 20 overs they had gives much greater pressure than 50 - obviously. By a whisker the obviously best team in the competition shaded it against an England side that lost its bottle...

I enjoyed the game hugely - cricket is so often not really exciting and sometimes not even vaguely interesting and sometimes paralysing in its boredom.

This one wasn't... Excellent...

I'm puzzled by the mad man's passion and rush to judgement (more by the first than the second, tbh)...

I disagree that cricket isn't often exciting. In fact I'd say the 20-20 bash stuff is far less gripping than a proper test match between two even sides on a decent pitch.

But each to his own I guess.

England as an ODI side, are a bit like the football side. Frustrating time and time again when it comes to the crunch, and often well before that point. Each time we are told what a good side they are only for them to find a new way to feck up.

Bit fed up with them hence the frustration. I still maintain they batted ridiculously poorly today and threw it away themselves.

On the plus side I prefer test cricket, the ashes are around the corner and unlike one dayers we have a very decent test side. Onwards and upwards.

I agree wholeheartedly. Have no real investment in T20. have seen lots of test matches live. Many have been boring, most less than exciting but ok, and a few fantastic. Cricket is like that.

But I don't really have an emotional investment in English cricket - I'd rather we won, but I shrug off defeat very easily...

Unlike my response to Bolton Wanderers...

Bunch of sheep-shearers have just smacked us all over The Oval in the T/20. Engand's target = 202.

Don't worry tango, plenty of time for, er, time confusion as we play them again this winter!

Aussies put a 19-year-old spinner straight in. Word apparently is Finn gets a place.
