What are you watching tonight?

If you have a life outside of BWFC, then this is the place to tell us all about your toilet habits, and those bizarre fetishes.......

Blimey.
Didn't see it all, so took me a few seconds to twig what was meant when it came up on screen that he is now able to wear trousers, rather than a hoodie.

Always mean to watch more Loach and Leigh stuff. Saw Red Road by Andrea Arnold recently, would appeal to fans of those guys. Need too see more of hers as well.

Of all the ML films, that's the one I haven't seen but should. I like Mike Leigh but sometimes his collaborative improv way of working through scenes gets a bit weary. Do you like Ken Loach Bruce?
Have seen shamefully little of his work, Pirate. A situation I intend to rectify. The last two of his films that I've seen (Angel's Share & Looking for Eric) were absolutely brilliant. I've got The Wind That Shakes The Barley on my LF list, though I'm guessing that it won't be similar in the least?!

Looking for Eric is class. Wind that shakes the barley. Mm... I think you need an open mind and a good understanding of the history involved, but a good story and a good performance from Ian (whatsisname?? doh!) The scouse lad. ( As I've had some wine I may even be on about the wrong movie! Apologies if I am Bruce..)

Not seen most of his modern stuff, but can recommend some of his earlier 90s films. Raining Stones featuring les from corrie is cracking, as is Of Land and Freedom. About three years ago they were all made free on youtube - now you have to pay :( only £2 a pop though.

Nice one Mr Kint. Raining stones made me laugh, as an Heywood lad, when they were trying to sell the meat, Ricky Tomlinson's character says 'Let's take it up Heywood, they'll buy anything up there'. Very true that.

The complaints will be from the likes of that rug-muncher pictured on another thread and her ilk that couldn't find a feck in Strangeways.

Cheers for the heads up William. Didn't catch it, put have just looked at the planner & have set 'record' for the next few nights. 'The Spirit of '45' is repeated in a couple of days, along with 'My name is Joe', 'Riff Raff'. Raining Stones, & Looking for Eric.

I've gone from watching (listening in the dark to) Sharapova and opponent's mutual flagellation and now the WilloBoobies! I sympathise with Bish's lack of calm.

Don't get me wrong I think Holly is very attractive.

But in that picture she looks really quite scary and not attractive at all. I didn't watch the voice but did she look like that the whole way through or is it just a bad picture?

I went to see the new Superman film.

They've clearly splashed a lot of cash and technology into it and, as a simple crash, bang, wallop and special effects film it was OK. As a Superman genre film it took huge liberties with the storyline ... maybe not relevant unless you're an old fogie like me brought up on the whole range of Marvel comics.

It over-relied on SFX and it's clear the team had discovered the technique for having people skid at speed and dig a groove in the ground. to roll-through buildings and shatter glass, and to have sky-scrappers fall. Once or twice is OK, as often as they did it was dull and repetitive.

Finally, the amount of overt "All-Americanisms" was retch-making. I'd like to think it was tongue in cheek, but actually don't think so.
Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.
