'Brothers' by The Black Keys. Some great tracks on this album, especially 'Too Afraid To love'.

The above post is complete bollox/garbage/nonsense, please point this out to me at any and every occasion possible.
Re: What are you playing tonight?
Just be told by amazon that I can listen to albums I've purchased on their website for free (even though I already bought them so not free). I didn't really see the point as I already have them all ripped onto my laptop but there's a couple I've somehow misplaced and others I've purchased for other people and not listened to so I'm giving those a whirl.

On the back of his stunning new album I'm having a major Lloyd Cole revisit (not that his stuff's ever not within reaching distance anyway). Tonight it's this;

Re: What are you playing tonight?
Just discovered this myself. Downloaded the Amazon app to my tablet last night and was pleasantly surprised to see the last 15 or so albums I'd purchased had been put on their cloud thingy. The beauty being most stuff I buy off there has been presents for other folk, so in amongst the dross there was some good stuff.Beefheart wrote:Just be told by amazon that I can listen to albums I've purchased on their website for free (even though I already bought them so not free). Had never heard of the guy, but there was a song on the radio this morning which I later searched some of the lyrics and it turned out to be 'lost weekend' by Lloyd Cole and The Commotions. Great song.Bruce Rioja wrote:Yes, you are sorry. Just had the realisation that this old friend is now 12 years old. And that I paid £9.99 for it at HMV when it came out.

Absolute classic, first heard it on a compilation album called The Alternative Eighties.Beefheart wrote:Had never heard of the guy, but there was a song on the radio this morning which I later searched some of the lyrics and it turned out to be 'lost weekend' by Lloyd Cole and The Commotions. Currently watching Download highlights again. Maiden were fantastic. Rammstein bizarre but fascinating. Not to forget Gogol Bordello.

Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

Try to give Bandstand a whirl when you can LLS. In my view their very best ... and it has 'Burlesque' on it, as well as 'My Friend the Sun'.Lost Leopard Spot wrote:Nostalgia. I'm the proud possessor of Family Entertainment... must give it a whirl tonight.

I managed to get backstage when Family did their last tour (Liverpool Empire, if I remember right. They finished at Leicester uncannily) and I know that back then a lot of bands were into drugs, but bloody hell, the quantity, variety and sheer couldn't give a monkeys, along with the truly awesome amount of bickering that was going on in the band was mind boggling.
I saw Streetwalkers on their first tour and Chapman recognised me in the audience and asked people to give me a clap as I was the first person he'd ever known turn down a spliff from him
