Why though? I mean I can see the thing about not selling to "direct rivals". But that means not selling to about 20 championship clubs if last year is anything to go by. Which is not realistic.StaffsTrotter wrote:How can it be irrelevant ? Its a factor just like all the others in my etc list.BWFC_Insane wrote:Good. So it's irrelevant who we sell to then?thebish wrote:Except, nobody is saying that...BWFC_Insane wrote:Its the notion that selling players = bad. Fecking hell...
Even saying that have we really got many players who for their fair price you'd not sell to anyone? I might put Eagles in the bracket, but even he has a price.
There is no up or down scale whereby selling a player to a club makes them bigger or smaller than you. Wigan have more money than we do, therefore if they want to waste it on Sordell why would we as fans be "upset" or have a fannymotion or whatever?

As a factor I think the rivals bit and a judgement as to to what extent it'll improve them is probably the main thing.BWFC_Insane wrote:Why though? Can't remember saying no sales. I thought I'd said (taking all factors into account) that any player has his price and if the deal is right (and if necessary replacements lined up) then its a go. As you said main problem is that other teams only usually bid for players you want to keep and ones you do want to move on, no-one wants and you end up giving them away.
All of the above should be about the cold professional eye and judgement of the manager. As to the emotion and fans reaction to these things I'm more often than not bemused by that, so in no position to really say why - I bet you can do a degree in football fan psychology, but throw them all in and its easier for many swallow if chelsea bought one of your players for £4m rather than wigan.

Bolton Wanderers are delighted to confirm the signing of striker Jermaine Beckford from Leicester City for an undisclosed fee. #FLTransfer

So, anyway, have we actually signed anyone yet?
I get confused, whet with being bombarded by new cider adverts and 10000000% loans as to what's been happening.

Apart from Beckford, obviously.

We've signed a delightfully fruity gooseberry and pineapple cider. Just for you!Lord Kangana wrote:So, anyway, have we actually signed anyone yet?

Why is someone banging on about not selling to Wigan? Who gives a toss about Wigan? It isn't like we're that major rivals with them. If they pay what we want for a player then sell him to them.

Firstly, I applaud BWFC_I for embracing fannymotion.
Secondly, I support LK in his demand for a public inquiry into cider sales and the query as to who we actually have signed ,(if anybody: even Beckford is not immune to scrutiny - I mean has he, the Citizens of Leicester, BWFC, his agent, himself, his wife, the thief and her lover all actually signed yet).

I think the concept of fannymotion is by far the most interesting thing to emerge from this thread. I salute you, LLS.

Re: The "Nothing to see here"Transfer thread
So the surprise bid has been revealed by the Bolton News. Wolves have bid for Craig Davies.
Marc Iles earlier in the day tweeted to say there was nothing in Nixons comments about a surprise bid.
Once again Nixon knew before anyone else. Another lucky guess I suppose.
Presumably we'd make a profit on the £300,000 the BN claims we paid for Davies earlier in the season. Would be decent business if so I guess.

I thank you sir, but must point out that BWFC_i was the first to actually name the concept!LeverEnd wrote:I think the concept of fannymotion is by far the most interesting thing to emerge from this thread. I salute you, LLS.

Wouldn't bother selling him to the fake Wanderers or if we do demand a hugely inflated transfer fee

I think it depends how big a part Eaves could play. Cos I could see him and Craig Davies being used in similar situations.
Might be as well to develop Eaves if we can get decent money on Davies.
Re: The "Nothing to see here"Transfer thread
True that, BWFCi. May use it as some of the money for Spearing?BWFC_Insane wrote:If we make a profit on the deal then that would be a nice bonus.TKIZ! wrote:Wouldn't bother selling him to the fake Wanderers or if we do demand a hugely inflated transfer fee![]()

Re: The "Nothing to see here"Transfer thread
With N'Gog (for now), Beckford, Eaves, Sordell, etc., etc. we are a bit overloaded. Cravies has been OK ... but he has limits. Never a 'let you down' player, but never going to be a top player either.BWFC_Insane wrote:If we make a profit on the deal then that would be a nice bonus.TKIZ! wrote:Wouldn't bother selling him to the fake Wanderers or if we do demand a hugely inflated transfer fee![]()

Too good for Wolves though.
Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

Exactly. Or more importantly a centre back!TKIZ! wrote:True that, BWFCi. I feel that the next "he's OK but we have better options" exit will be Andrews. Especially if there's anything in the Spearing thing.

If we can get rid of Andrews for Spearing I would be a happy chappy. Maybe Coyle will want him at the Pie Dome?bobo the clown wrote:I feel that the next "he's OK but we have better options" exit will be Andrews. Especially if there's anything in the Spearing thing.
