I don't think Rooney is on the cards anymore but it sounds more and more like Suarez is... Its a tricky one. Whilst I feel less strongly about him as a person then I do Rooney, there's no denying he's a racist biter, a bit of a liability and hardly someone who I would want playing for my football club, however desire to win trophies and the fact he's clearly very talented make the picture a little more blurred. Am not sure what to think.thebish wrote:not at all - just showing my interest hun!Gooner Girl wrote:Some might say Bish reports on our transfer failures almost gleefully...
it'd not help Arsenal's cause much in the eyes of right-minded football fans if they lined up with Rooney or Suarez next season, though... I think you might have to bite your tongue too...
What would be your reaction if you had someone like him (ie very talented but not very nice liability) possibly joining your club? Would you be pleased or upset?

clearly we are very principled and would hound him out of the club!Gooner Girl wrote:I don't think Rooney is on the cards anymore but it sounds more and more like Suarez is... Its a tricky one. Re: Diving Arsenal Players - The Least Shocking Admission Ev
do you really think Arsenal will spend the (reported) £55million that Liverpool want for Suarez?

No. The most we have ever spent is £17mil on Reyes... I hope we don't anyway, to pay that much money I would expect talent AND a good attitude and he clearly doesn't have the latter.thebish wrote:do you really think Arsenal will spend the (reported) £55million that Liverpool want for Suarez?

You'd rip your arm off for Suarez, and you know it! Grade A cnut. Grade A* footballer.

Is Wilshere back of his latest drugs ban for the start of the season, or has he spent the summer snorting Charlie out of a strippers knickers with that Czech lad?

it's a strange world when you object to me calling for the return of *Tiny Tears!!! you Gooners are so fickle!Gooner Girl wrote:There are days when I could go off you Bishop...thebish wrote:what about Fibreglass - you in for him?? *(I believe - to give appropriate credit - that Tiny Tears was a name awarded to Thierry Henry some years ago by DSB - perhaps in another place - but it has stuck with me!)

I think he was less high profile at the time, so there was probably less of a mass reaction. Also we didn't have the luxury of spending millions on players like Arsenal so any good player signing was welcomed.Gooner Girl wrote:BWFC_Insane wrote:Like Diouf?Gooner Girl wrote:I don't think Rooney is on the cards anymore but it sounds more and more like Suarez is... However, I don't think I'd be entirely comfortable with him signing now for us.
Main thing IMO with Suarez is, that £40 or £50M is way way too much to pay for him. Exceptionally talented player, but unlikely to be the regular goalscorer you guys have been missing for so long. For that sort of money you want a player who is going to make the difference between winning trophies and not. I'm far from convinced Suarez is that difference. Just my opinion though.

also - Diouf had a sense of fun and a bit of style and panache - a cheeky smile... he never came across as the moody, sulky git that Suarez does... Diouf was a whole lot more endearing with his public face...

Diouf was a knob. But he could score goals, and he had style.thebish wrote:also - Diouf had a sense of fun and a bit of style and panache - a cheeky smile... he never came across as the moody, sulky git that Suarez does... Diouf was a whole lot more endearing with his public face...

Liverpool fans probably say the same of Suarez. I suspect the "endearing parts" only exist when you're a fan of the club the player plays for.thebish wrote:also - Diouf had a sense of fun and a bit of style and panache - a cheeky smile... he never came across as the moody, sulky git that Suarez does... note how many of the responses are surprised/disbelieving! When Diouf did summat - nobody on here ever wrote stuff like "well it shows that he can have a laugh"!BWFC_Insane wrote:http://www.redandwhitekop.com/forum/ind ... c=307234.0" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;thebish wrote:i don't think i have heard liverpool fans talk about suarez as a "character" or as having style or a sense of fun.. have you? they like him because he scores goals...BWFC_Insane wrote:Liverpool fans probably say the same of Suarez. Nah come on. It's just cos Diouf played for Bolton. Had he not I'm convinced you'd have him in the same (if not worse) bracket as Suarez. There are actually quite a few similarities. Remember he's at his lowest ebb here with Liverpool fans and they're all still saying how "adorable he is".thebish wrote:note how many of the responses are surprised/disbelieving!
