my sentiments too. one of them where you recognise its a good film, appreciate its merits - but ultimately its a bit zzz.Prufrock wrote:Nah, I really enjoyed it, but it takes effort. Second time around was a bleak week-day after work and I really fancied it.

Just wanted to say that the Alan Partridge movie is absolutely incredible.

Going Saturday night, can't wait. Been watching KMKY to warm up, the one with the racist granny and Hot Stuff the gay dance troupe.

TV/film wise, genuinely can't recall anything I've been looking forward to more than this.

Absolutely brilliant! Have been as much worried as excited in the build up to it's release due to its huge potential for disappointment, but it was so so good. Stuck to the formula that works best, not loosing those nuances that make Partridge so wonderful.jimbo wrote:Working nights this weekend so I'm off there on my own to watch it this afternoon! Re: What are you watching tonight?
^ Fantastic film! I think I accidentally spat over the person in front of me at one point. Funniest film I have seen for a long, long time!
EDIT TO ADD: In the very last scene one of the main characters (no spoilers) is speaking on the prison phone. There's a man behind him sweeping the floor. Thats a very good friend of mine who was attached to the crew as a firearms expert/consultant and was persuaded to appear in this scene in a cameo role.

Just watched apocalypse now on ITV 4, tried watching it a couple of times previously but never made it to the end, no idea why...looks amazing in HD.

Funny you should say that, I've tried half a dozen times and I've never quite got to the end either.Beefheart wrote:Just watched apocalypse now on ITV 4, tried watching it a couple of times previously but never made it to the end, no idea why...looks amazing in HD.

Am I the only one who finds Alan Partridge/Steve Coogan about as funny as getting your tackle caught in the mangle?
That Borat blokes the same.

Re: What are you watching tonight?
No, Raven, you're not. I just don't get it. In fact it took me years to work out that Alan Partridge was fictional. I just thought he was some boring bloke from Norwich or somewhere. Thankfully I've never seen anything of Borat/AliG.BWFC_Insane wrote:Raven wrote:Am I the only one who finds Alan Partridge/Steve Coogan about as funny as getting your tackle caught in the mangle?

That's not a leopard!
