Arsenal are not really in a relegation scrap nightmare, though - are they?

Are you worried about missing out on the top 4? Or do you think Wenger will sort it out.
Yes, I do feel we should be investing in the team more - the most sung chant yesterday was at Wenger "Spend some f-ing money" and if in the unlikely event we haven't spent by the end of the transfer window on extremely good quality players then I will be hacked off. I don't doubt Wenger will spend, my main concern is he has run out of time and good options and we will end up panic buying several mediocre players who are no better then what we have.

Yes, I am worried about missing out on the top 4. As far as I can see that top 4 will be made up of 5 teams - us, City, Spurs, Chelsea and United (wouldn't like to guess the order) If Spurs sell Bale and we buy really well then I am confident we will finish above them again. Ask me again at the end of the transfer window ;)

Yesterday was awful, the ref was diabolical but we were very poor too. Painful to watch, a nasty niggly game. Am worried about the CL qualifier now, we are down to the bare bones.

Not bad for a bloke always espousing the beautiful game and whinging about dirty play.

Wenger is a cock. It's about time Arsenal got shut and brought in someone with vision and who isn't happy to just simmer along season after season.

There is a lot of quality managers out of work right now who could really do a job for them. Mancini. Capello. Megson.
Businesswoman of the year.

They are today but they will be well clear of it come the end of the season. The question is whether they finish in the top four or not.

no they're not! there is no meaningful sense in which you could say that arsenal are in a relegation scrap nightmare after one game!

the "Black Scarf Movement"??? I'll bet the board are scared!
There were furious arguments between home supporters in the Emirates and the 'Black Scarf Movement', with more than 4,000 members one of the biggest official supporters groups, wasted no time in putting their complaints in writing to Gazidis.

They have been joined by the Arsenal Supporters' Trust, who have also voiced concerns at the direction taken by the current regime.

The BSM letter states: 'Make no mistake, if there is not significant improvement in our playing squad over the next couple of weeks, the rapidly growing anger in the stands will become difficult to overturn.

'There hasn't been a poisonous atmosphere like this at Arsenal for over 30 years and the Board has simply stood by, while things have gone from bad to worse. I am sure you appreciate this can no longer happen.'

And BSM spokesman David O'Leary said: 'A long-standing concern of the Black Scarf Movement is that profits have always remained in the business and were not re-invested in the team. We have lost in excess of 20 players this close-season and, while some would have been considered "dead wood", the squad is now dangerously thin as we go into the new season.

'Our concern has always been with matters off the pitch and not on it but the Aston Villa result coupled with the non-arrivals this summer have proved again that the Board running the club are not interested in success on the pitch. Only profit in the bank.'

One gooner next to us started getting well arsey with the team, in the end he got chucked out, he was really aggressive, thought he was gonna lamp someone. A lot of not very happy fans yesterday. I didn't boo them off but an awful lot of people did...

I'd have thought the Black Snood Movement would have been more appropriate for Arsenal. Anyway, I hear the lawyers for the British School of Motoring are sharpening their quills.

Out of that lot the only ones who have seen first team action would be Arshavin, Chamakh, Coquelin, Denilson, Djourou, Eastmond, Gervinho, Mannone, Miquel, Santos, Squillaci and Watt...

So this black scarf movement are claiming that the Arsenal fans were unhappy even when they were winning premier league titles. 30 years is a long time to say that the fans have been unhappy for.
