Yep. Maybe a can of Tizer too just to seal the deal.

£35M really? Michu was a £2M buy a year ago.
Fecking crazy.
Edit: So Michu a 27 year old who cost £2M a year ago is now valued at £25M. Williams a centre half with 1 full seasons premiership experience at age 28 is valued at £10M.
Jeeeeeesus.

Now everyone knows how desperate they are we are going to have to pay massively inflated prices for mediocre players.BWFC_Insane wrote:Arsene may have listened....

I don't see why. You have £70M plus burning a hole in your back pockets. If you're going to pay massively inflated prices they might as well be for the best players you can get.Gooner Girl wrote:Now everyone knows how desperate they are we are going to have to pay massively inflated prices for mediocre players.BWFC_Insane wrote:Arsene may have listened....

Michu would be a decent addition but £25M is taking the absolute piss. £8M would be a fair price. £10m if you're saying "paying over the odds". But £25M is really joke territory.
Ashley Williams I'm not convinced about at all.......we have a good centre back for a fraction of the price, in fact you can take him for just £1. He's just what you need, a man mountain of a man 6ft 5 don't ya know? Towers over the opposition strikers like a behemoth. Just the sort of power you guys need at the back........

For example United have had a £28M bid turned down for Baines and Feilaini. Nip in there with a bigger offer and steal them from under Moyes' nose.Gooner Girl wrote:You can't palm your disaster prone captain off on us, but nice tryBWFC_Insane wrote:I don't see why. Decent players with bags of premiership experience and with Feilaini you increase your merchandising by being able to sell those comedy wigs. And he might score a header for you. Which I know is something you've not seen at Arsenal since Tony Adams was marshalling the back four.

Cabaye? Centre mid? Not the first position I would be hoping we would strengthen. Would he make the team ahead of Arteta and Wilshire? I don't know much about him.BWFC_Insane wrote:Ooooo Sky reckon Arsenal have bid for Cabaye.....

I'd have him over Arteta but nay little Jack. Chances are that jack will get injured again and that will make Wengers mind up.Gooner Girl wrote:Cabaye? Centre mid? He's ok. I don't see him adding much you don't have already. Possibly a bit better than Arteta but can't be masses and masses in it.Gooner Girl wrote:Cabaye? Centre mid? Baines, Feilaini a striker and a centre half would improve you massively IMO.

Cazorla and Ramsey can play centre mid too, its about the one position that doesn't desperately need strengthening.ChrisC wrote:I'd have him over Arteta but nay little Jack. Ramsey is shite compared to your other options. What formation does Wenger usually play?Gooner Girl wrote:Cazorla and Ramsey can play centre mid too, its about the one position that doesn't desperately need strengthening.ChrisC wrote:I'd have him over Arteta but nay little Jack. Do you not play 5 in midfield? 3 centrally?

Re: Diving Arsenal Players - The Least Shocking Admission Ev
See the Cabaye bid was only £10M and Newcastle have described it as 'derisory'.
Seems Swansea doing the same with the reported £6M Williams bid.
You do wonder if Wenger actually intends to spend any money? This to me seems like Arsene has gone "ooo they shouted at me, best do something, lets put a load of low bids in, then shrug our shoulders and mutter something about value".
I can understand it if they were hard up, or even with a modest budget. But they're not.
I do sometimes wonder if the stories about Wenger taking a cut of transfer profits ala Redknapp are in some way true..... (in an agreed with the club way not a dodgy way).

This is why Arsenal will never be one of the big boys ever again. They have the money but no muscle. Penny pinching all the time.

Swansea can ask for whatever price they like. Good luck to them. But if anyone bids £25M for Michu I will be stunned.boltonboris wrote:How do you know what a fair price is to Swansea??BWFC_Insane wrote:I don't see why. There is not a chance on this earth that Michu will make a £25M improvement to Arsenal. A good player, absolutely. But madness for anyone to pay that sort of money for him.
