You've obviously not got a horse then General.

B&Q should do 'em.
That brought back a distant memory. Used to be a saddlery shop in Bolton. I can't remember exactly where now though? It was either on Bridge Street or somewhere around there? ( Or maybe Bank Street) Long time back.

They used to be everywhere, even longer time back, before that damned internal combustion engine wormed its way into our lives. A friend of mine runs a saddlery and she says she's never been so busy... more horse riders now than ever since the late 1920s. At the last count there are 1.8 million horse riders in this country.
I don't know where you mean, but Googlemaps tell me there's a tack and feed on Blackburn Road, Egerton and a couple of saddleries at 444 Tonge Moor Road and Stitch Mi Lane.

Stitch Mi Lane? what a name.

Aye, but not the one I meant Clapton. Pretty sure it was either Bridge Street or Bank Street. As I said, it's a long time back.

An odd question which drew several answers. A glance at the image info shows these particular ones are called Rubber Baskets. Oh well.

Ooops. Sometime back we had a corporate wallpaper (& screensavers) applied to all our computers and networked laptops. Of course, within days (minutes in some cases), one or two of us had hacked it so that we turned off the imposed stuff and put up our own wallpaper on our machines. Having comfortably forgotten we'd done this, none of us bothered to revert to company-think when our CEO came a-visiting today. Guess what feedback we got from our bosses; I'll give you a clue: it wasn't anything to do with our marvellous profit margins, wonderful work ethic, or glorious relationship to our clients

It depends what was on the screen savers instead of the company logo that matters.

There's an e-mail going round work at the minute, which people make look official and add an attachment stating that you must enable macro's to make it work. Upon doing so it automatically changes your wallpaper to some softcore gay porn.

Excellent Dan, something we have in common at last! I'm also quite partial to a bit of gay porn.

LE is on the wind up again, this could turn very awkward.

I was more thinking about the looks on everybody else's faces in the office when they saw a gayporn screensaver. I know a lad in my class at school managed to hack onto this b*ST*Rd of a teachers computer (the teacher was single as well) and getting several gay porn videos on his computer while he was out the room, we were all in tatters but quickly left the room (all 12 of us in the class) before he got back and watched through the window as he walked in to not only find an empty classroom but also several tabs open on different gay porn videos. It wasent long after that actually that the school edited the internet so that several words (such as porn) would come up with 0 search results.

The only trouble with that kind of joke, Dan, is that the teacher could have his career ruined if someone else had come in the room and seen it.

Aye, well. It wasn't gay porn, sadly. But, I think the powers that be were more upset by the fact that a bunch of oiks that they employ at minimum wage can possibly overcome their mighty IT department that they employ on such vast wages with such apparent ease. We're hoping it might get us a wage rise, but will no doubt just end up with one or two sacrificial victims.

NB ^ I am of course employing hyperbole to dramatic effect in many of those statements above.

Astonishing. Really, it is. Not just career, but life ... & the 'no smoke without fire' gang would have been all for lynching him.
Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

I, on reflection it was not the most sensible thing for the lad to do (he was that sort just loved winding teachers up) but you weren't taught by him for years. We obviously thought it was brilliant at the time especially as he had been giving all of us a hard time and would spend every lesson coming out with statements like "I don't have faith in you generation, if I have to rely on your lot for my pension then clearly this country has problems", "I have x years of experience in ... I don't need you to pass this course, I don't care if you pass this course" and of course the best of all "your going to all end up on the doll cue if you don't do you homework". Keep in mind most of my class got A* - C. He was not very nice to at least 1 other member of staff either in fact the worst thing with the teacher who he was unkind to is the bloke was just to nice to have a go back and would often have to apologize for the teacher for the t**t of a teacher having a go at us all the time.
