Because I don't presume they identify people with there Burkhas on, so thus wont be able to take a picture of them because they wont look any different to anyone else who wears a burkha.jaffka wrote:bwfcdan94 wrote:So actually the solution to all of this is that we just convert to Muslims and start wearing burkhas.

Re: Today I'm angry about.....
We've got an email from our Communications section on behalf of our Managing Director and his Senior Management Team outlining what is and is not acceptable behaviour at a power lunch. A Power Lunch! most of us just come to work and have a midday break of home made sandwiches. We ain't toiling away at the corporate coalface mining nuggets of pure business gold, we're just working for gawd sake.

At the heart of this LLS, must be an incident of pure comedy gold?

I shall ask about, but I suspect any shenanigans or embarrasments would have taken place down in that there London (or in Deutschland) - that's where the majority of the power lunches take place. Our Kid, along with everyone else that works in a similar position to him, got dragged along to their HO for a lecture on what is and isn't acceptable by way of hospitality and gifts. This was on the back of someone somewhere in their organisation receiving the 'gift' of a 3 Series for his Mrs.Lost Leopard Spot wrote:I shall ask about, but I suspect any shenanigans or embarrasments would have taken place down in that there London (or in Deutschland) - that's where the majority of the power lunches take place. We had a similar learning experience quite a few years back now, on what was and was not acceptable to be claimed for on expenses. It turned out that our Director of Training had been (on a monthly basis) claiming for socks!Bruce Rioja wrote:Our Kid, along with everyone else that works in a similar position to him, got dragged along to their HO for a lecture on what is and isn't acceptable by way of hospitality and gifts. Re: Today I'm angry about.....
I believe my old boss was quietly asked to resign after giving a caution for drink driving to a prominent local business man who then arranged for the 3 year 'loan' of a brand new vehicle from his dealership to the Chief Super's wife. That was the second one he'd done (It's unheard of), the first one being of a gent I'd locked up driving home from a do where he'd had his trouser leg rolled up whilst wearing a funny apron. He was smashed and blew over a hundred, the legal limit being 35mcg/100ml. I asked why it had been done, only to receive a phone call from the local head of the CPS warning me that my career would end the following week if I ever mentioned it again.
And to think I had to declare a bottle of wine I received from a printer last year!

Re: Today I'm angry about.....
But Bruce, if we hadn't given them any aid, they wouldn't have been able to afford the rocket. Can you imagine how long it'd take to get a space probe to Mars by tuk-tuk.Bruce Rioja wrote:Today the Indians have sent a rocket to Mars.

Re: Today I'm angry about.....
I'm hearing that the money delivery van's been held up at gunpoint at Astley Bridge Asda. Talk of shotguns, £30K and a burned out car in Halliwell.
No doubt young Dan'll be along with his tuppenny worth before long.

£45m for the mission.....
I guess they would argue that this campaign will help stir up the country's technological sector, which would produce benefits which will passed through the economy - a form of investment. Debatable probably.

I may find it more of an intrusion that I start getting messages I don't want, however.
Tailored advertisements would make me think twice about entering such a building or area.
Every time you Amazon or eBay, or even, TW Forum, you get targeted. I've never heard anybody complain about that. What's so different here? Also it won't work. If you have a queue f three and they are all different demographics how is the timing of each advert worked out? Impossible to target the correct person.

Another shambles in another NHS trust, led by a cretin who now has politicians lining up behind him to save themselves embarrassment. I'm losing the will to live, let alone work in a system that currently has a culture of bullying, mismanagement and a chronic abuse of public monies. If you can afford it, buy health insurance people. It's adecision you won't ever regret.
