What are you watching tonight?

Gravity. Slightly mis-sold as 90 mins of Sandra Bullock floating in space.
Instead it's a visual feast, an amazing technical achievement and occasionally bloody nerve-shredding.
Misses classic status with some clunky, shoe-horned emotional stuff. But this is the director who did Children of Men, so everyone should get their backsides down to the cinema, as the bloke can do spectacle standing on his head. It ain't perfect but you'll be glad you saw it.
Also worth seeing in 3D, and I hate 3D as much as anyone.

Yep, this is one film that definitely needs to be seen in 3D. Adds so much to the film.Jakerbeef wrote:Gravity. Slightly mis-sold as 90 mins of Sandra Bullock floating in space.

Rented it on Blinkbox last night. Incredible.William the White wrote:Lever End is absolutely right - there is a hint of Kes about The Selfish Giant. I went to see it today - and it is like a Kes for these despairing, poverty soaked times.
It is a stunning film that really should be seen. I don't know if it will get a good general release, but the reviews I've seen have all been 4 or 5 star. At the end of today's screening (at The Cornerhouse, Manchester) people just stood up and left the cinema slowly, without saying a word, as though were in shock. I've only seen that reaction to one other film - Au Revoir, Les Enfants.
Just DL'd the Arbor off iTunes for tonight too!

Homeland, partial SPOLIER alert.
Absolutely shocking, didn't see that coming. Great episode. Game of Thronesesque in its brutality.
I love this show.

They have kept the tempo up very well ... hope they can for another season, now that's been announced. Such a shame when the money-men keep something dragging on after it's 'best-before' date.
That daughter wants a slap, btw.

I think she's a really good character, her Mum is more deserving of a slap.bobo the clown wrote:They have kept the tempo up very well ... hope they can for another season, now that's been announced. Such a shame when the money-men keep something dragging on after it's 'best-before' date.

She's no Arya Stark in the child acting stakes though.

Eh? Mrs Brody is bang on tremendous
Re: What are you watching tonight?
She is so fit that it's painful. Remember her as the lovely lovely Maya Griffin in the OC.

Utterly gorgeous, though a little fatter in the face this season I thought. Brazilian I believe.Prufrock wrote:She is so fit that it's painful.

Yes well I remember her as long-necked reptilian alien leader in the remake of V, so I'm prejudiced.Prufrock wrote:She is so fit that it's painful. Remember her as the lovely lovely Maya Griffin in the OC.
Her character irritates me.
