The problem with that is it will be replaced with the most obnoxious "we're better than anyone else" type of people who turn their noses up at anything that can be remotely perceived as irrational or 'different'. And they can all feck off.Bijou Bob wrote:I'm not sure if it will happen in my lifetime, but an end to any belief in an omniscient/omnipotent being as science comes up with a compelling arguement for creation.
I don't want that, tbh.

Animal rights. Treating animals with the same (and I mean same, not similar) rights to a life, home, and environment that we expect humans to enjoy (not that we treat humans in that way in actuality, just that there are supposed Human Rights). In future these will be extended to include other lifeforms.

So animals would be able to apply for jobseekers allowance and housing benefit?

The above post is complete bollox/garbage/nonsense, please point this out to me at any and every occasion possible.
Re: The Next Big Movement
I really do hope this is the case Kinty, there are far far to many people (I can name 2 people who I knew who have done exactly that) who top themselves because they feel unable to talk about there problems, my dad has a theory that you should be nice to people with mental health issues as when the inevitable day comes that they do s Raoul Moat they will remember you and decide not to massacre you in the street when they pick up a gun and start killing people willy nilly.mrkint wrote:The acceptance that mental illnesses aren't a sign of weakness but more of a reflection of the times (not sure what that last bit means but it sounds fancy), but yeah, basically the idea that people think it's ok to to poke fun at people being suicidal etc
Bijous idea sounds like a terrible one given the number of riots that have occurred because ethnic minorities have been shut off in 1 small area of towns and cities.
I think however that The Bish has come up with the most likely idea.

How about the EEC ???
The idea that the answer to everything was hegemony across a disparate set of 30 or so nations.
Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

Perhaps something to do with Africa. Key things like water, food, health, education, democracy, natural resources and how it is treated by the West and East. Hopefully it can rise economically and politically like Asia has recently.
Step one: Don't shrink it on the map.

Re: The Next Big Movement
Depends what projection you're using. It ain't shrunk on my map. One map, though, that uses projection as political propaganda in a non political context is the BBC weather map. Devon and Cornwall are the size of Scotland. If that was extended to real life, bish's bedroom would be larger than all of Glasgow...Athers wrote:Perhaps something to do with Africa. Re: The Next Big Movement
When I was 13 I was molested (fondled while clothed, not sodomized) by one male teacher. It happened to many of us - usually once as we took care not to get caught alone again. We didn't think all that much about it, although we talked freely and made excuses for the man (13 year-old son lost in the war was one theory which I now believe to be highly improbable).LeverEnd wrote:Ancient Greece Pru? I'm pretty sure we would find sodomy in schools and the navy rather more recently than ancient Greece.
