Re: Today I'm angry about.....
Perhaps I should post this in the 'confuserated' thread but seeing as the subject has been raised here:
A compulsive-obsessive family in Canberra has fired up its 2013 Christmas light display. It consists of more than 500,000 (yes, half a million) individual light emitting bits of electrically powered stuff.
Some people!

I take it the positive impact is felt on the remaining European countries when they come here.Telegraph wrote:Although it acknowledged that mass immigration could cause social and infrastructure problems, it concluded that the overall impact was positive.
I have seen the positive impact (with the job I do) some migrants have had in this country but enough is enough. It is about time we stood up to Europe and told them to do one (it is probably far too late now).

Just paid in excess of £100 for my M&D's tickets for West Side story for xmas. I wouldn't mind, but the surcharge (read "ooh, so you'd actually like to buy a ticket would you? That's novel, you think we'd quote that in the price of actually buying a f*cking ticket, wouldn't you?") came to £15. Really twists my nipples.
You can judge the whole world on the sparkle that you think it lacks.

Before we fostered we were on the list of local theatres as homes that could offer short term residence for actors. We had about half a dozen here over the years from The Lowry, The Palace, the Library Theatre etc and part of the deal was always tickets for the shows they were involved in. I don't know who maintains the list, or even if it still exists, but we always without exception enjoyed their company and had many an interesting conversation with them.mummywhycantieatcrayons wrote:My mate's in it - I could see if he can do anything?Bruce Rioja wrote:The price of tickets for Warhorse at The Lowry. You can see the National Theatre production live at Cineworld in the valley on 27 Feb for about £12 (at a guess)...Bruce Rioja wrote:The price of tickets for Warhorse at The Lowry. They can feck off too!
Not as good as the live event but surprisingly closer than you might think...

Re: Today I'm angry about.....
Oh yes. Doesn't it just?! The one that boiled my piss up the most was a couple of years ago - I'd ordered tickets online for summat or other, then, and bearing in mind that I'd already had to succumb to some or other 'administration fees' at the end of the transaction it led me to this 'Method of Delivery' screen. Here I was given two options;Lord Kangana wrote:Bruce Rioja wrote:The price of tickets for Warhorse at The Lowry. They can feck off too!

1 - Standard UK postal delivery. £3 per ticket (I think)
2 - Express service. £3 per ticket.
Of course, being the same price and there clearly being no way round it I selected the 'express service' thinking that they'd send them on a courier or summat. Oh no. Up pop PDF's of my tickets for me to print off on my printer, using my electricity, onto my paper with my fecking ink!
I don't think I've ever felt as had-over in all my life!

They're rinsing the back out of you until Trading Standards finally get around to admitting defeat to knock off DVD's and finally cap their excessive and unjustifiable charges.

I'm afraid that just made me "laugh out loud" Bruce, despite having been bitten by that myself in the past it's rarely been so well put.Bruce Rioja wrote:1 - Standard UK postal delivery. £3 per ticket (I think)

Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

I don't need an online copy, they send me a flipping paper copy every year as I have bought Bish Christmas presents from it in the past. Re: Today I'm angry about.....
Our phone/Internet provider have recently put prices up by about 8 quid a month. No notice, no warning, they just put the bill up. When enquiring about this I was told that we now get some free calls and stuff that we didn't get before. They didn't grasp the fact that the fact they were charging me 8 quid extra meant it wasn't freeBruce Rioja wrote:Just realised that BT have been taking £80 a month out of my account rather than £60.45. Anyway, nowt we can do about it as the provider is telling us it is tough tits and the reality is they are the only provider we are allowed to use, so we're fecked
