It's ridiculous at that at that level of the sport, when you consider how much they put into getting the most marginal improvements in a players performance, then get arsey when one of them wants to wear short sleeves. It's a stupid tradition anyway.Gooner Girl wrote:A tricky one as its a long standing tradition at Arsenal that the captain chooses long or short sleeves yet Flamini is a grown man and if he feels he plays better in short sleeves...Annoyed Grunt wrote:Sleeve gate.......what's your take on it GG?
I think, whilst he may not be happy about it, he needs to roll his sleeves up and get stuck inliterally. Would be more of a problem if he wanted to wear long when everyone else was wearing short. Cutting them off is a bit OTT. Wengers not impressed!

We also have a tradition that we always wash the goalies shirt before it's worn too. I quite like that the club have many funny little traditions tbh.Beefheart wrote:It's ridiculous at that at that level of the sport, when you consider how much they put into getting the most marginal improvements in a players performance, then get arsey when one of them wants to wear short sleeves. Does Goonersaurus have to acquiesce to the sleeve choice du jour as well?

Thinking of Pat Rice today who apparently has been in and out of hospital battling cancer.

There's an Arsenal supporting one that resides at the Emirates. And if you are extremely lucky and a very good boy Lever End, next time you make the away trip with Bolton you might even get your photo taken with him...LeverEnd wrote:Hard core? really? I never knew that meant something I thought it was just an Oasis song. You inspired me to look up the meaning of acquiesce:Bruce Rioja wrote:Does Goonersaurus have to acquiesce to the sleeve choice du jour as well?
acquiesce - To consent or comply passively or without protest.
There we go I have learnt something today thanks Bruce.
The above post is complete bollox/garbage/nonsense, please point this out to me at any and every occasion possible.

Not the most appropriate song title for the Gallagher brothers. One of their better efforts though.bwfcdan94 wrote:I never knew that meant something I thought it was just an Oasis song. You're more than welcome, Dan. I'm pleased that you looked it up if you didn't know its meaning. When I was about your age I used to jot down words that I wasn't familiar with and then look them up later (pre Google, see?!). The best way to remember them is to use them in conversation yourself as soon as you get an opportunity.bwfcdan94 wrote:I never knew that meant something I thought it was just an Oasis song. Bendtner scored for Arsenal tonight. The first time for 3 years.

When I went on a tour of the Emirates they said the keeper always sits closest to the dressing room door, but Jens Lehmann used to complain the bell was too loud so they moved the bell rather than the seating arrangement.Gooner Girl wrote:

Also that they had traditional wooden benches round the dressing room, but when players complained they made their arses sore they had to install some padding.
There was also something about the shape of the room being non-square and the away dressing room being square, for some psychological reason.

meanwhile, has our jack been a naughty boy??

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger admitted Jack Wilshere may have to accept a ban for an apparent abusive hand gesture.
Television pictures appeared to show the Gunners midfielder raising a finger towards the crowd during the 6-3 defeat at the Etihad Stadium.
The Football Association will await referee Martin Atkinson's official report before deciding whether to review the incident or not.
"If he did it and he is banned then we will have to accept it," Wenger said.
"I don't know if he did it."
