January officially sucks. I can't remember a crappier month in a long time. New years resolutions thrown out the window, house issues costing us shed loads of money, two grumpy toddlers weeing everywhere. Can we go back to 2013 please? :(

Update on the jumper ..... I wore it. It's very, very nice ... & I can't see the 'patches' anyway.

Kagana's sage advice sorted me out. Don't tell him though ... it's vital we continue to appear never to agree on anything.
Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

Does it make you look younger and slimmer?

I've been looking for one like that for some time...

The missus, the rain, and a general lack of busloads of Romanians - in that order.

After most of the veggie plots had been put to bed for winter, the missus decided to expand the area of her personal dominium at the expense of our wastelands and initiated a project to clear two further terraces on our hillside. Of course, after a short while, ownership of this project somehow got foisted on me to toil over at weekends and any free time available. And I was doing alright until the relentless rain of the past few weeks has caused the top terrace to landslide down onto the bottom terrace, and in so doing has revealed part of a sewer pipe - now freshly broken. I don't mind moving soil and stone for the greater improvement of our arable empire, but digging out shit is a step too far. And can I get hold of willing slaves to manhandle the crap, replace the broken pipe, rebuild the walls, and back fill with soil at a ridiculously low rate of remuneration? Can I f*ck. Where are the bus loads of cheap labour I was promised?

why not write to nigel farage? i think he keeps a long list of young eager british workers willing to get their hands dirty, work all day and accept only a pittance in return...

anyway - look on the bright side - it makes collecting a poo sample a little bit easier!

I'm killing time between appointments and have parked up in a Tesco car oark, listening to a CD and eating Fruit Polo's. So far, so good.

However, I'm opposite the copious row of 'Mother and Baby' spaces. 8 in all. In the 40 minutes or so I've been here id day 30 plus people have parked there. Almost all women, almost all of an age who could easily possess a small child. I'd say no more than sbout 3 actually has one with them.

Frankly I've always wondered why these exust ... certainty in the numbers they exist. But given that they do why fo people feel it's appropriate to use them when not with their child ?

Trouble is I don't know whose poo sample I'd be collecting.

Which reminds me that I once knew somebody who collected poo. A very specialist hobby is that, but it has a name which I've now forgotten. (and no, it isn't turdology).

The study (~ology) of poo would be scatology or coprology. The collecting and obsessive interest in same would be copromania. Paleocoprology [sic] would be the study of fossil poo.

Fossil poo mania would be it. He has some magnificent examples including a huge fossilised turd from a diplodocus.
