meanwhile - Wenger is claiming he is puzzled...
The deal could breathe life into United's season, a move which Arsenal boss Wenger is struggling to understand.

well, yes - because clearly it would be utter madness to sell one of your best players to ManU, wouldn't it Wenger?Wenger wrote:"I'm surprised Mata is allowed to go because he is a great player. And Chelsea are strengthening a direct opponent."

Wenger thinks it is very unfair....
"Chelsea had already played twice against Man United so they don't play again any more," he said. "They could have sold him last week but it opens up again questions about the dates of this transfer window.
"Some teams have already played twice against one opponent and some others not. I think if you want to respect the fairness for everybody exactly the same, that should not happen."

Did he actually say that?! How does he propose we avoid a situation, commonly found somewhere between games 19 and 38, where some teams have played a certain team more times that others?!

^^ He was convinced that the result was a crime, to be fair.
Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

It was a crime that Sunderland didn't wrap it up in normal time. Much better side on the night.

I get what you mean, but they didn't have a shot on target until the 119th minute......boltonboris wrote:It was a crime that Sunderland didn't wrap it up in normal time. Much better side on the night.

I know, they weere all over them but didn't look like breaking through. Fully expected United to soak it up and sneak one on the break, then remembered this is the new United!

That's what I mean. With that many attempts on goal and the amount of decent balls into the box, in the positions they got into, a half decent side could've been 3 up by the 90th minuteBWFC_Insane wrote:I get what you mean, but they didn't have a shot on target until the 119th minute......boltonboris wrote:It was a crime that Sunderland didn't wrap it up in normal time. Just seen old Satan on the goggle-box commenting that Stretford are known for having grwat 2nd halves of the season but that it was an uphill battle.
Both of which points are fair enough but really he should keep his gib shut.
(Well, in fact, I hope he continues but he's not helping).
