Finally filled in online tax return.
They say they will refund me £774.
I'm surprised. But happy.

I retired during that year... Until end Sept they were taxing me at 40%, which would have ben accurate over a full year... But once retired had earned less than whatever the threshold for that band is... So had to be taxed at the lower rate at the end of the year... My royalities for play revivals that year were £328...Bruce Rioja wrote:I am too, being as you're retired?!William the White wrote:Finally filled in online tax return.

taxed at 40%?? I thought uni lecturers were poorly paid!!! (sometimes I think I have landed in some kind of football supporters rich-list club!)William the White wrote:I retired during that year... Re: Today I'm happy about......
Given the fact that Will's just landed a nice rebate, and given his remarks, I take it that he hasn't grasped the fact that he only needed to pay tax at 40% on earnings over a level. Nor taken into account tax-free earnings. That must hurt, when your fiscal ineptitude brings home twice as much as your earnest endeavour.thebish wrote:taxed at 40%?? Took my dog out for his first walk in the park across the road before work this morning.
He was a hit with the general public and after some initial caution, quickly became very bold in going up and introducing himself to very big dogs, many of whom seemed intimidated by the tiny little upstart.

I had too much to worry about to be taking pictures! He might have been confident, but I was poised to get involved if he started anything he couldn't see through...Gary the Enfield wrote:mummywhycantieatcrayons wrote:Took my dog out for his first walk in the park across the road before work this morning.

Okay, perhaps I should have said 'have you any pictures of the dog in general (not Mannerheim) rather than this morning's specific escapade?'

Ah, sorry! I have put one or two up before...
You've just made me realise I don't have any very recent pictures of him and he's growing fast

He's just a puppy - he'll grow to full Jack Russell size, I think.

Looks more like Fred Dibnah than the Fred Dibnah statue does.
Where's Little Frank?

I once took a friend's dalmation for a walk and I've never felt as attractive in all my life.
