I thought it took 14 goes to break a habit or somesuch, I think he was well past that.

His watershed episode saw him clinically dead three times, once in an ambulance and then twice at a hospital. Another episode five years later it happened twice, both in an ambulance. When he eventually went for good there was no attempt at resuscitation, his time had come.
We joked a lot about his having died so often. He told me there were no lights, voices, or angels, not that I ever thought there were mind.

Resuscitation is an interesting one. I went to a seminar last week where it was explained that CPR only came about as a result of injuries in the Korean war. Believe it or not, CPR on 17 -90 year olds only works in around 30% of cases. If you're over 60, that drops to just over 3%Enoch wrote:Indeed.Gary the Enfield wrote:Without wishing to make light of the situation Enoch, are you sure that's what you meant?Enoch wrote:My best buddy had emphysema, or COPD as it's lately tagged. The other thing they don't tend to mention is that jumping up and down on someone's chest to the tune of Stayin Alive, more often than not causes fractured ribs, punctured lungs and other serious traumatic injuries. Only half of those resuscitated live for longer than another 6 months. Makes you think.

It's modest by Dubai standards! Car prices are fairly reasonable here. No Way I'd go for anything like it in the UK.

From what you've told us about the local drivers, AT, I'm surprised you didn't order it with huge bull-bars (front and rear).

The Sierra was tempting for the reason! The Acadia seemed to be the best of of all world's. Congrats......

Had to re-read the email informing me of the result a few times, to make sure that I wasn't mistaken.. That could have been due to it being 4am, still pissed from an afternoon/evening at Albert's Shed and Duke's, or a combination of the two. I was just praying that I wasn't dreaming!
Thanks to all for the congratulations.

Just in time to look at Bolton Council's accounts and, now with a qualified eye, give your head a little shake and say "wtf ?"
Well done. Now your word really is your Bond.
