Diving Arsenal Players - The Least Shocking Admission Ever

There ARE other teams(we'd have no-one to play otherwise) and here's where all-comers can discuss the wider world of football......

The Telegraph has done this article naming Wenger's worst XI. To be honest, I haven't heard of most of them, but no Cygan? No Senderos? Neither of those clowns that he loaned to Coyle? :conf:

I actually the some of these players were half decent. Inamoto was a star at Fulham, Jeffers scored some important goals for Everton, Alumina was not half as bad as some of the keepers that followed him.

I feel Almunia's inclusion is harsh, he was ok for us, but don't disagree with most of the rest. Jeffers being the biggest fail of all. He was dire for us.

No he wasn't, he might have scored 1 or 2 goals, but he was far from being a star!!!

We are at Chelsea on Saturday for what will be Wenger's 1000th game in charge which makes me feel old as his first one seems like yesterday though it was actually quite a while ago, back when I was a teenager.

I think that (1000 games) is actually a pretty good achievement for him in football as it currently is now. Yes, I know I didn't give a damn when Fergie passed similar long serving landmarks but that's because he was a kn*b. You lot probably think the same about Wenger but you'd be wrong. ;)

Yes, he hasn't won anything for ages, blah blah blah, but I believe we are on the up again and he has kept our team competing whilst spending significantly less then the vast majority of other clubs which is no mean feat. He's a good manager, has unearthed some amazing talents in his time and I hope he stays for a while yet. I'm feeling positive, good things are in store for The Arsenal. 8) (p.s - I do realise we are likely to get thrashed tomorrow having written all that)

It's an odd definition of *competing* too!

By the vast majority you mean 3 clubs right? Even if you limit it to your direct Premiership rivals 3/20 is not a "vast majority".

If you take all 92 league clubs then even less so.....

Pedant. The vast majority of clubs we have been competing against in top 6 or so of the premier league for the past few years.

TBF I think Wenger is a excellent manager(as I do think that Me red face Ferguson is) but he's no Aidy Boothroyd, who now works for the F.A.

There's a decent graphical representation here

There's a numerical representation that currently says 2-0 after 7 mins. All over for the title methinks.
Can't believe he's started with no defensive midfielders against Chelsea away. Flamini on the bench? He deserves to lose the stubborn dick.

Perhaps he's thinking he HAS to finish lower than ManU. 4-0 and one sent off doesn't bode well for the rest of the season. 8)
Don't try to be a great man. Just be a man and let history make up its own mind.
