6-0 now. I always thouht having a player sent off generally galvanised the team into working harder to cover. This could get interesting.

Don't try to be a great man. Just be a man and let history make up its own mind.

Apparently he dodged the press conference at stamford bridge stating the team coach was leaving.

Says it's all his fault. But he doesn't want to talk about why!jaffka wrote:Apparently he dodged the press conference at stamford bridge stating the team coach was leaving.

Just for GG

Just for GG

Sort of 'I got your number written on the back of my hand'the heaviest defeat Arsenal have suffered in 107 years of this fixture. Wenger has still not beaten Mourinho in 11 attempts and the indignities piled up. At one point, Chelsea's jubilant supporters could be heard chanting for him to sign a new contract: "We want you to stay." Later, an even more callous cry went up: "Specialist in failure."

Hilarious . . . the powers that be have built up referee egos to such a degree that they won't even question their judgment when a player is saying "No, send me off, I did it."Prufrock wrote:Haha go on Gibbs, you're brown, off you go!

Hmm..
So (hypothetically) Rooney gets shown a red card, some shit player who's white and has a weird hairline, says no no it was me (even though it was Rooney) because it's a tight match, and he's a good egg who loves his team. Should the referee send the shit guy off, or go with his first instinct?

If I were a ref I'd never believe anything a player told me. He'd look even more stupid if he got tricked.

I question your analogy, because anyone who looked like Wayne Rooney without the corresponding talent would wear a bag over his head at all times.boltonboris wrote:Hmm..

In all seriousness, yes, the context needs to be considered, but in this case the referee should have taken Ox at his word. He had nothing to gain by lying, they were already getting killed.

Unless he had Gibbs to be sent off on his coupon......

Looking like penalties! Arsenal have the balls?

Re: Diving Arsenal Players - The Least Shocking Admission Ev
I didn't really care who won that semi final to be honest, as long as the winner of Wigan vs Arsenal loses the final I don't care.
The above post is complete bollox/garbage/nonsense, please point this out to me at any and every occasion possible.

Re: Diving Arsenal Players - The Least Shocking Admission Ev
but Hull Not Rugby Jade Dragon Number 8 Pig Red Fish Soccer Squad are two divisions higher than sheff utd , you'd think they'd have a better chance of 'stuffing' arsenal fc than sheffield united beating 3-4 teams in a row as underdogs.
the highlights are on itv4.
the world famous fa challenge cup's semi final is on a channel in place of decades old minder repeats.
.. that's a poor do. adrian childs must be spinning in his grave (..yard time slot)

25 years ago today, in 1989, Michael Thomas scored what was arguably the most important goal in Arsenal's history as we beat Liverpool at Anfield to win the league from under their noses. I was 8 and just getting into football, living in the midlands and swapping football stickers in the school playground. The day after it happened I remember seeing the highlights on the news and doing a forward roll on the living room floor and my love of Arsenal was born. Perhaps a lame reason to start supporting a team but there you go. Didn't get to go to my first game for another 5 years though.

^ One of those 'I remember where I was...' moments. I was in a bar on Jersey watching the game on TV.

I also remember where I was. I was sat in the main stand at Anfield, laughing inwardly at 40,000 crying scousers.
By contrast, two days later it was Torquay at Wembley for the SVT final.
That was a good weekend!

I was in a Greek Restaurant in Chester. With a few people many of whom were Scouse-Red. There were no mobiles or available t'interterweb so they kept popping to a pub next door. They were convinced they had it.
I had to pretend I was upset for them.
I wasn't.
Not one tiny little bit.

Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.
