Totally my view, but she was never going to win. Susanna had big support but Abbey was never going to walk alone. Too many Scousers who couldn't resist all those crocodile tears. Craig more or less directed her right at the glitterball by over-marking everything she did every week. Natalie could never win because of the Twitterati who claimed she was a professional dancer who practised dancing by candlelight with the ghost of Fred Astaire at midnight in a graveyard somewhere off the M25. Susanna would probably have come second in the voting. Good series though, cracking Blackpool night and a good final.

..... and Suzanna Reid is on the market !!!

Maybe she should be on my list of 'Specialist Subjects'.

Apparently joins a number of previous Strictly contestants whose relationships have collapsed though, to be fair, her whole lifestyle is bizarre. She lives in South London, works out of Salford and commutes 3 times a week. Add the intensity of Strictly to that ... not just the TV show but the touring follow up and it's asking a huge amount of wife and mother of 3. Maybe her bursting ambition has made tgat relationship impossible.

The truly odd thing is that the World found out because her husband signed up, fully openly, to Match.com. I bet that wasn't on her publicity plan.

Anyway, I've baggsied first dibs .... so hands off.

"bump"

Sir Bruce Forsyth today announces that he is stepping down from presenting the Strictly Come Dancing live shows but will remain on BBC One to present the Strictly Christmas Special, the Strictly Children in Need Special and other one-off specials yet to be announced.

Sir Bruce Forsyth says: “After 10 wonderful years and 11 series, I believe it is now the right time to step down from the rigours of presenting the Strictly live shows. I am very proud of what the show has achieved and confident it will entertain the nation for many years to come. I am also delighted that by presenting the Christmas and Children in Need shows I will continue to have a strong association with Strictly.

"In addition, I am looking forward to the specials planned with the BBC as well as some live theatre shows, so before anyone asks.... I am not retiring quite yet! [shame]
Thank fck for that.

They were chatting about this on 5 live on the way home. Apparently Brucie claimed only a few weeks ago that contract talks for the next few seasons were being held and that he wasn't going anywhere.

Presumably the doddering old fart's demands were too high so they've called his bluff.

Better the devil you know though. They then went on to speculate that Graham Norton would be a good replacement host before Adrian Chiles announced to the Strictly producers that his phone is on standby. The cheeky brummy tw@t.

Promote Anton du Bek to the judges panel and let Len Goodman compere it.

Oh. Really ?

As Crazy said, sometimes 'the devil you know'.

Goodman comes across as a cringeworthy slimeball who fully fits my "you wouldn't let him babysit" your kids" description. You'd expect him to have rifled through the Mrs' knicker drawer tbh.

Or maybe it's just me that he has that affect on.

Len G has some bad points: he's a Londoner (don't know where he was born) and supports West Ham, but comes across as an admirer of the female gender rather than an old lech. He's also happily married. I quite like the bloke really. He knows his dance having been British Ballroom Champion back aways.

I don't doubt his dance pedigree, but for me he IS the old letch rather than admirer of the form.

They should keep Forsyth on yon dancing programme just so that the lecherous, creepy old c*nt doesn't turn up on anything that I watch. A risible human being.

Claudia Winkleman has been given the job of replacing Sir Bruce Forsyth on strictly.
BBC entertainment correspondent Lizo Mzimba said "The new Strictly line-up is a clear demonstration of the BBC's determination to feature more women, particularly in its primetime output".

Shirley the easiest way of featuring more women would be to just launch BBC Babestation? :?
