Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

Find it very hard to get worked up about Jeremy Clarkson.
On the one hand, his and Hammond's boyish personas (f*ck you Firefox and your affected Latin plurals) irritate me a bit, but I despair of anyone who thinks they do it for anything other than to cause a bit of fuss so people watch their programmes.
On the other hand, like many many others, I couldn't give a shit about cars but watch Top Gear, so they must be doing something right.

Ditto.
Re: Today I'm neither Angry nor Happy about....
I used to watch it - but found it became so formulaically and forcedly/falsely "laddish" and so obviously "set-up" that it ceased being interesting...Prufrock wrote:Find it very hard to get worked up about Jeremy Clarkson.

I suppose some of the stuff they've done in Vietnam, Burma, South America, Africa etc. are great just for the camerawork and interesting places, you could ignore those three!

Weird stuff the BEEB are doing.
I often use 'Catch Up' off i-Player. Not just TV but radio as well. This week I see a sign saying "sorry. Radio is no longer avaliable on catch up. Dont worry, you can still get it on line, on smart phones, on laptops and PC's". Now that's correct, of course, and all well and good, but, I mean, what does that cost in time, energy and money but why not keep the TV route ?
AND they've "upgraded" the phone access from one that was easy and flexible to one which, well ... isn't.
It's a special talent to mess up something which was good into somewhich which isn't, by upgrading.

We recently had a software upgrade on our cable box. The upgrade means that the favourites button on the remote no longer takes you to your favourites. It takes you to a menu, where you scroll and then press to select favourites. 3 clicks instead of 1 FFS. This particularly irritates as the tv guide feature is useless, sue to the fact there are about 700 channels of Iranian, Russian and goodness knows what else shite to plough through...to get to the 10 ok channels available

There's a headline I've just seen on the BBC. It said 'US prisoner dies in botched execution'. Oh really? And what other possible outcome might have rendered it a success?

US prisoner lives in botched execution is a more grammatically correct headline, I'll grant you.Bruce Rioja wrote:There's a headline I've just seen on the BBC. It said 'US prisoner dies in botched execution'. Oh really? And what other possible outcome might have rendered it a success?

It should perhaps have read US prisoner dies after failed execution attempt. The story is rather disturbing although as an opponent of capital punishment I am perhaps biased.Bruce Rioja wrote:There's a headline I've just seen on the BBC. They still show stuff, just with chunks missing. Sometimes you end up with 30+ minutes of a film cut, and even worse, they'll cut the most important bits of the film. You even get films stopped halfway through because someone important complains!Montreal Wanderer wrote:No Game of Thrones then? Season 4 well under way here.Abdoulaye's Twin wrote:It's all censored.
