Make sure you don't ask questions you could have easily found out the answers to yourself.

Not to a first interview (unless asked). Obviously take a mental note in case asked about grades etc.bwfcdan94 wrote:Yeah I have got a couple jotted down. Do you think I should take my various exam certificates or not. I mean they didn't ask for them but...
Re: Today I'm happy about......
Yeah I know what my grades are. The job description they sent me was actually quite brief, it didn't even mention the hours so I may ask about that, nor the salary but I won't ask about that.Abdoulaye's Twin wrote:Not to a first interview (unless asked). Re: Today I'm happy about......
It's not unreasonable to ask about salary. But probably not straight after "good morning".
Re: Today I'm happy about......
Should I ask "what the package involves" The thing is that I don't now if the interviewer is going to be the sort who talks loads and dosent let you ask questions till the end or the sort that stops after every point expecting you to ask a question.

I would. Most will leave time at the end for questions or have covered it in the interview anyhow.

Earlier bumped into my cousin's wife and their baby in Tesco. She took a picture of me holding the baby and put it on Facebook. Lots of women are liking it. Babies are brilliant props, result!

Flamin' Nora!!
I've just been reading an instruction manual for the car on line, it seems there are that many voice commands and responses you could have a feckin' conversation with it.
I wondered why the wife went for it
you will tune to radio two, you will,

Re: Today I'm happy about......
Don't know if anyone has seen yet but 100s of Reading fans invaded the pitch at full time despite the fact they had finished 7th and Brighton had scored the winner about 5 mins before the Reading game ended. Anyhow it was caused by a Reading based Birmingham fan who was in the home end at the Madejski shouting "its 2-2, its 2-2" (in reference to our game). I am actually quite pleased we only drew now
. Justice for the 7-1 defeat in January.

Managed to download Microsoft Office for a free trial of 1 month. Very helpful as I have a spread sheets exam in 3 weeks. Microsoft have my address but not any credit cards or any payment details, what is the chances that they "forget" to uninstall it and in a few months time I get an invoice coming through my letterbox.

It will stop working when the trial runs out and you will get reminders and emails galore trying to get you to part with cash. Most folk would find Libre Office or Open Office more than adequate in place of MS Office. Best thing is both are free.bwfcdan94 wrote:Managed to download Microsoft Office for a free trial of 1 month. Very helpful as I have a spread sheets exam in 3 weeks. Discovered this morning the Pistorius Trial live on the beeb. Fascinating. Real life murder trial as entertainment, who'd a thought it? Should have more of them (...trials, not murders).

Busman's holiday syndrome, maybe?Prufrock wrote:Or not on TV. It's bollocks.

Anyway, where's it fecked off to - adjourned 'til Thursday. No wonder justice takes so long, the barristers are always buggering off. (Plus I've got an all day, internet excluded, goddam seminar to attend tomorrow, so my newly discovered Pistorius fix will not be satisfied until Friday morning. That's aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaages away)

Re: Today I'm happy about......
No. It turns serious stuff into reality TV. All of the arguments for it are nonsense, and yet it seems to be picking up more and more support over here, presumably from 'right-on' types who want to seem down with the kids. There's an idea that law is too musty and 'uncool' and so it needs to 'connect' with people. There may be a good point buried in there somewhere, but these people think the way to do it is to embrace any passing technology or gimmick, like a shit ad agency.
