Those Russians who feel temporarily victorious do not realise how much their country has to lose
Listen baldy

I would suggest you wind your neck back in a touch we in the West have far more to lose if you did accidently start a shooting match with Moscow!
"Russian military leaders have learned a lesson from the Iraq war, and intend to show the U.S. and its allies their determination to repel any potential threat coming from the West."
The Russian military, in plans drawn up at the request of President Vladmir Putin, argues that the only way Russia can deal with an escalating regional conflict with the U.S., would be to employ nuclear weapons. Though Russia's military has been considerably downzied since the end of the Cold War, and its conventional forces hold little weight against a modern, equipped army, Russia has continued to invest heavily in strategic and tactical nuclear weapons.
Sometime during the 90s, Russia attained nuclear superiority over the U.S. While Russia's large, strategic nuclear weapons have remained in parity with the U.S., Russia's tactical nuclear arsenal has been estimated to include between 20,000 to 40,000 weapons.
At the same time Russia has continued its nuclear buildup, the U.S. has virtually destroyed its arsenal of tactical nuclear warheads. Under orders from the Bush administration, the U.S. has also been moving to further reduce the U.S. strategic arsenal. Currently, the nation's most modern fleet of ICBM, the MX missiles, are being destroyed.

I think perhaps even Earl by then.

I reckon it already has settled down for the most part. There will no doubt be a lot of whinging from Kiev, but not anything that will alter history, unless of course the tanks do roll and Donetsk, Kharkiv and Odesssa are in Putin's sights - that I fear will lead to war.
Oh goodie - the people's republic of Donestk. Does it have a Constitution? :-)

Very strange. One of them shot their thumb the other night

Not seen the doomsday castle one though. Shall keep an eye out :)

I've worked out that I'd be buggered in an apocalypse. I've about 2-7 days worth of water at any time and nowhere to store more :|

You're near the sea aren't you? Just boil some seawater and distil the steam on a sheet of glass. (If you say you've only got 2-7 days worth of fuel to boil water with and you've nowhere to store more, well then, you're buggered). :D

Surely it's hot enough over there you don't need to boil the water?! Just stick it outside!

It may seem that way when it is 40-50 Celsius outside but that is only halfway to boiling at sea level. Mind you it would evaporate fast which might leave you with no water.

I've 2 big gas cylinders for the cooker, so I'm alright there for about 8 months. As for the sea, I'm about 25 minutes away, as I live a fair bit inland. Anyway, too bloody hot to go dipping buckets in the sea :)

Pru - If I leave it outside, whatever it is in will melt most likely!

I'll be reet if I've eggs. Can cook them on the car bonnet 8)

Looks like civil war is about to kick off. First one in Europe this century, if, that is, you count Ukraine as being in Europe.

Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.
