Well done. Really .... well done. Bravo !!!

I don't understand all the angst above to be honest. He wasn't ever going to be charged, nor will he ever be. Yes, he an odious **** but that doesn't make him guilty. At the time he was allegedly the commander of another local battalion. He might have signed off on the abduction but we'll never know the truth.
It's ancient history, what matters now, more than anything, is the future peace in the province.

He was integral throughout the 70's and on to all the IRA did. No-one even remotely "in the know" doesn't appreciate this. Somehow he has managed to argue he never, actually, joined them. I guess that's possibke somehow.
He has proven proven to be an arch politician. He has been involved in a remarkable turn-around over there. I don't for one second fail to realise that it's very unstraightforward. However, given what I watched and lived through the current situation is far, far better and I'd not want to risk it breaking down.
However, if there was ever an example of "innocent until proven guilty" being a pile of old shite he embodies it.

Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

Granted. One day, like all of us, he'll lie on his deathbed breathing his last and have to make a judgement about his life and actions. If he's honest with himself, he won't die at peace.

I was going to mention Sheryl Crow on the musical heroines thread. I was buzzing when I saw her name at the Ritz last night and that she was playing there this October. Went to buy a couple of tickets this afternoon. She wants £35. Each! At the Ritz! The cheeky bitch. She can feck off

I've seen her before, mid 90s I think at the Wolverhampton Civic. It was when Clapton was boffing her. Very average. Saw her at the Shepherd's Bush Empire, early noughties. She wasn't brilliant and she'd cut off all her hair.

Thirteen life sentences and good ole boy 'Skull Cracker' is released after eight years. On whose planet can thirteen life sentences possibly equate to eight feckin' years?

Yeah, come to think of it, she wasn't brilliant at the MEN either when I saw her there a few years ago. Perhaps her best work is done in the studio

To be fair (!!!!!) He was told it would be eight years before he could be considered for parole ... almost 14 years ago, so c'mon.Lost Leopard Spot wrote:Thirteen life sentences and good ole boy 'Skull Cracker' is released after eight years. That he committed those crimes after serving less than half of a 27 year sentence, the remainder of which I'd have thought should have then been reimposed, isn't relevant at all.

I didn't realise we'd given him no hope! That's OK then, he deserves a few sundrenched years on the Costa del Sol, poor sod.bobo the clown wrote:To be fair (!!!!!) Re: Today I'm angry about.....
There is something pretty bonkers about the Police advising the public not to approach him cos he's dangerous, when last week he was low risk enough to be transferred to an open prison!

Re: Today I'm angry about.....
Yes it's the open prison aspect that is a lot more concerning than the sentence. Gets out after a longish sentence, goes on immediate crime spree, is locked up again but some bright spark thinks he can be trusted to return to prison of his own accord. Incredible.Harry Genshaw wrote:There is something pretty bonkers about the Police advising the public not to approach him cos he's dangerous, when last week he was low risk enough to be transferred to an open prison!

Yep, what the feck they were thinking sticking him in an open prison I don't know. Also, BBC said the prison was on the 'Isle of Sheppey'. Is that a proper island, or just a place they call that? How the feck can you let someone off an island.
Anyway, today I'm angry about Boko Haram. The shitcnut w*nkers.

'Mystery tracks' at the end of cds. What's the point? It ain't original and it's bloody annoying listening to 3 or 4 minutes of silence before this extra track kicks in. You can't even fast forward onto it
The music on my drive into work is sometimes the only thing that keeps me sane during the commute. More of these long periods of silence and I'll be driving into a crowded bus stop
