Cholesterol.....Me....??? WTF?
Went back to the docs today to get the results of my blood test and report a hernia. He said ignore the hernia would be his advice if it wasn't painful (it isn't to be fair). Claimed that sometimes complications could occur in an op (he didn't actually say in an old bxstard like you) but I heard a voice somewhere say it. Blood test results all fine and blood pressure good, but, his words: "There are two types of cholesterol, good and bad. In your case, the bad is winning" (or something to that effect).
So, appointment with a health trainer next week, got to lose that half a stone and he doesn't want to put me on medication. Excercise and diet.
Not really worried about much cos the dog walks twice daily keep me moving, and we're already on low-fat everything, sugar, salt, chips etc, but somethings got to go. Guess the chocolate biscuits and cream cakes have had it.
One thing, if I have anything to worry about at seven pounds overweight, there a lot of folk
around Farnworth and Bolton with some very serious problems..

Tango - you do know much of the low fat stuff is basically replacing the fat with sugar and chemicals?

It's why those folks in the supermarket that pile their trolleys high with low fat stuff are all fat! Eat a balanced diet of the good and bad stuff and you'll be alrightTANGODANCER wrote:Er no, please don't complicate things further....Abdoulaye's Twin wrote:Tango - you do know much of the low fat stuff is basically replacing the fat with sugar and chemicals?

This essentially correct. You need fat and it is not bad in and of itself. If it makes you feel better my doctor thinks I'm about 20 pounds overweight and I don't exercise enough since retirement (I don't have a dog!). He wants me down to around 200 lbs. On the bright side my good cholesterol is winning 3-1 over the bad, and blood pressure fine. So don't become obsessed with low fat food, although low salt might be a good idea.TANGODANCER wrote:Er no, please don't complicate things further....Abdoulaye's Twin wrote:Tango - you do know much of the low fat stuff is basically replacing the fat with sugar and chemicals?

They had my grandad in for a chat about his diet after finding his blood pressure was a bit high. He probably does add a bit too much salt and butter to hos food, but having made it to the age of 90 he doesn't seem to give a shit really!TANGODANCER wrote:Cholesterol.....Me....??? WTF?

My elder son is a magistrate & works in youth courts. He heard a case last week ( no names, no packdrill) there was a burglary case. The lad had broken into a house, taken all the electrical goods ... TV, stereo, dvd etc.) Stacked them outside the door and, as he'd been let down by his getaway driver mate, rang for a taxi to take him & his home with his purloined goods.
Can't imagine how he didn't get away with it.

I suspect, bobo, that your son has the patience of Job and has many a tale to tell of the stupidity of some in our communities. From experience I recommend any one of you with an hour or two to spare to pop into the local courthouse and sit and listen to what goes on. You just might get an inkling as to the stupidity of some of our fellow men.

I get why tabloids find this a thrill. I don't really get foreign paper's obsession with the British Royal Family, but hey-ho.
I see that Kate Middleton's reasonably attractive and why she wasn't too wise wearing a cheese-wire thong and a floaty dress while walking toward a helicopter.
I DO NOT get why the fuss isn't about the Kardashian's rear-ends. Fck me, I've put money on creatures with smaller arse than these ...

Room for some tidy turds heading outta them.
I agree Bobo. Does nowt for me. Mind you, that's not just restricted to their gluteus and comprehensively maximus. The bits that are attached to it aren't much of an improvement.

Last week we had a case where an Ontario judge failed to show the patience of Job and allowed his feelings about plaintiff and defendant to creep onto his judgement. It is well worth a read.Dujon wrote:I suspect, bobo, that your son has the patience of Job and has many a tale to tell of the stupidity of some in our communities. That my dear sir was a gorgeous read. It hasn't exactly reaffirmed my faith in humanity, for I have none, but it has reminded me that some of humanity are at opposite ends of the bell curve (the judge) to others (the plaintiffs and defendents).
Thank you Monty.

That's not a leopard!

Back in the days before Jennifer Lopez decided insuring her nalgas (buttocks) was vogue, such objects were quite often referred to as "big fat arses". I do but speak the truth.bobo the clown wrote:I get why tabloids find this a thrill. I don't really get foreign paper's obsession with the British Royal Family, but hey-ho.

^^ "Big" ... yes, certainly "big" is a word you could use. You could rest a tray of drinks on the one in trousers.
... & those ain't going to be getting smaller anytime soon.

Kim does seem a little out of proportion... Perhaps she should not wear trousers.bobo the clown wrote:^^ "Big" ... yes, certainly "big" is a word you could use. You could rest a tray of drinks on the one in trousers.
