In fairness, it was a shit one from Asda. I imagine if you got a dearer one it might be alright, but it just has that plasticy shell like you get with a pram and everything just died in no time.

I'd go with the polycarbonate ones, that way you're not going to have any broken glass around for the little ones to play in. If you're doing tomatoes then make sure you've enough height, or go for a shrub type one. You can also get proper greenhouses that are designed to go on the wall of the house (which helps reduce the cold in there). These take up little space, but better than the small cheapo types. http://www.greenhousepeople.co.uk/green ... 28-package" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; <----- you can get them cheaper than that, but to give you an idea...General Mannerheim wrote:I've seen proper wood and glazed ones that are just like a glass cupboard

Re: General Chit Chat
i must have lost some weight - or at least, some girth - as all of my trousers are falling down - i mean - dangerously falling down... I carried drinks back to a table the other day across a crowded restaurant - and they very nearly actually fell down British Slapstick-style... much of the time - walking the dog - I am like one of those yoofs with my pants on show...
this is clearly not good... and I have never liked belts as they kinda ruck up your trousers and make your waisline uncomfortable (they do mine anyway)
anyway - so today I have bought braces! awesome! it's a long time since I had any! now I can pack a wallet in my back pocket and several heavy bunches of keys - and the trousers are unwaveringly at a respectable height!
so...
braces...
old-fashioned, middle-aged sad-wear
or...
old-classic reinvented northern style triumph?

Both. I wear braces on formal occasions. They rock with a tuxedo or dinner jacket.

For people of your age, tip-top cool.
There's a little of a hipster element to them for people my age which stops me wearing them.

With unweighted pockets do your ankles show in a flag at full mast sort of way?thebish wrote:i must have lost some weight - or at least, some girth - as all of my trousers are falling down - i mean - dangerously falling down... It also depends on their colour. Red is an absolute no-no.
