Most lottery winners throw a huge party. I'll pick up a couple of barbies from the garage on the way.

It is! No cat there yesterdayMontreal Wanderer wrote:Was this the one that sneaked a cat in?Bijou Bob wrote:The tenant is moving out of my house in Adlington. This one has kept the house nice and clean and not trashed it like the last one. It's not much, but not having to spend a grand on sorting the mess has made me happy tonight.

Hmm! You may have to have a rethink. Tenant with cat leaves place in good shape, those with no cat trash it. Perhaps your no cat policy is not foolproof. People who are kind to animals may be kind to infrastructure.Bijou Bob wrote:It is! 2) Watch his partner near the start. The pretending to smile whilst looking thoroughly miserable at the same time then the fakest of smiles. Weird.

Don't know if anyone has seen it on the BBC News or not; or are interested or not. However, the Dakotas, plus a mosquito, spitfire and a unidentified bi plane, that have just flown the channel to Normandy & back, dropping parachutists over northern France as part of the 70 yr commemorations, (not celebrations BBC!) of WW2, flew over my house twice. Quite a sight & brought a lump to the throat seeing them over the Solent.

Given the era, Il Pirate, I'd take a guess at a Fairey Swordfish.

Following a quick look up; it was a Beech staggerwing N16S. No, I've never heard of it before either. Didn't half look good tho'......Montreal Wanderer wrote:Probably, or possibly a Gloucester Gladiator.Dujon wrote:Given the era, Il Pirate, I'd take a guess at a Fairey Swordfish.

An American aircraft which must have come via lend lease if it had RAF marking. Perhaps it was this one. I have heard of Beechcraft but didn't realize their biplanes were used in WW2.Il Pirate wrote:Following a quick look up; it was a Beech staggerwing N16S. No, I've never heard of it before either. That's the same plane Monty, but done out in cammo green. Been watching the Red Arrows doing their stuff this afternoon over the Solent. A real nice day weather wise, & the father of a friend of mine on the news!! Mr Doug Buchanan-Morton. A 93 yr old hero.

Went into Tesco today, to the electronics area, linked my phone via Bluetooth to a speaker and put on 'Billericay Dickie' on at full blast and wandered around the area.
Childish ? Yep, but made me smile.
Maybe 'Derek & Clive, Live' next.

I meant it might be the exact plane you saw since it is still flying.Il Pirate wrote:That's the same plane Monty, but done out in cammo green.
