Re: The Politics Thread
I don't think you understand. I want everything and everybody to be and act the same, apart from my life being better. So same job, same house, same prices. But I want to pay less tax. Just me. Nobody else.

Re: The Politics Thread
So why do UKIP not do very well in London according to BWFCi
Maybe this little insight as to how 'democratic Londoners' run their elections might help.

I suspect this goes on in some other wards too, maybe not to this extent but it goes on.
Make a place multinational and watch corruption run rife!

Re: The Politics Thread
Appears to explain why Labour didn't do as well to me.
UKIP didn't do very well because they didn't stand.
Your constant misogyny and casual racism is getting a bit tiresome btw, give it a rest.

I always look forwards to the Sunday morning random spoutings. It can only strengthen the opposition. I think we should publish it wider.Prufrock wrote:Appears to explain why Labour didn't do as well to me.

I'm sure John Prescott only got his candidacy because he's a bit of eye candy for the ladies. But that's modern politics for you, eh?

Legal types, yes, you two. Is this even remotely plausible/actionable? What 'right' does anyone have to tv airtime?
Ukip ‘will sue’ if Nigel Farage is not given equal air time to Labour and Conservatives in TV coverage building up to 2015 general election

there's usually some kind of coverage agreement - but I thought it wa proportionate to the number of MPs you have.. he hasn't got any... i may be wrong... (not about him not having any!)Bruce Rioja wrote:Legal types, yes, you two. Is this even remotely plausible/actionable? What 'right' does anyone have to tv airtime?

Ah right, cheers. I've not heard of that. And anyway, hasn't he spent more time on QT than anyone bar Dimbleby, or is that just a myth?thebish wrote:there's usually some kind of coverage agreement - but I thought it wa proportionate to the number of MPs you have.. he hasn't got any... i may be wrong... Dunno about the last bit, but the first bit is covered under Codes of Conduct by the Broadcasters - the Representation of the People Act, basically instructs Broadcasters to draw up a Code of Conduct. So BBC and ITC both have them (+some Welsh and Scottish National Channels).Bruce Rioja wrote:Ah right, cheers. I've not heard of that. ITC's Code of Conduct says "There is no expectation that the time devoted to all parties and candidates in an election will be equal"..."Licensees must exercise their judgement, based on factors such as significant levels of previous electoral support, evidence of significant current support, and the number of candidates being fielded by a party. Due weight should be given to coverage of major parties (these are defined in relation to the UK in Section 4.3(i) below). However, smaller parties and independent candidates may also be among those with significant views and perspectives, to which appropriate coverage may need to be given."
Major Parties are currently defined as Cons, Lab, Lib Dems, which I'm sure they'll easily contend is appropriate for a General Election, given UKIP polled less then 1m votes - nearly 6m less than the Lib Dems at the last General Election, and not quite double the BNP.

Let's face it, his posts consist of cliched, vacuous shite and occasionally a list of out-of-context, unsourced quotes, which he seems to view as evicence.

Worthy4England wrote:A Code of Conduct is an in-house document and not a law. It would not stop someone suing and the case would probably be heard since Farage enjoys some significant amount of support. However, his chance of winning damages would be more remote than him becoming Prime Minister one day.Bruce Rioja wrote:Ah right, cheers. I've not heard of that. Wait till they start a war or mass civil unrest with someone because they will rub somebody up the wrong way sooner or later, don't start crying then.
When its pointless voting or they start to deny you the right because its not in their interests remember you were one of the appeasers.
