2 hours of badminton tonight. Staying in Yeovil with my aunt and uncle on the way back from holiday so went to my uncles club with him. I'm not sure I'll be able to move my right arm tomorrow. I was very rusty but it was great fun. What was not so much fun was being mistaken for a school girl by not 1 but 3 different men who were chatting away, asking me about myself. Being mistaken for 25 would be quite flattering, being told I look 16, not so much.

You look at least 33. They were just trying to get in to your apple-catchers. :)

Why did I get dragged into this?

I might be grey but it's a full head of hair least.

This week hasn't been a good one for me for a few reasons, one of which was noticing the first grey hairs at the front of the widow's peak. It's all downhill from here, just ask Jude Law. ;)

I've been going grey since I was Sixteen, about GG's age.

My hair's been receding since I was 21, the island at the front is almost completely detached. Greying quite a bit round the sides as well and not even 40 yet. :hang:

13 miles today over Rivington in the blistering heat. Went round with a club mate who's 66. He was running for England when he was in his 40s and is still a great runner today, usually winning his age category. In umpteen attempts I've beaten him once. I was telling him that my dad frequently tells me I'm too old to be doing the miles I do. He said his mum says the same to him!

Also went out round Rivington, managed 5 miles no problem after missing 6 days with sore hip, so back on track again for this week.
Good choice of partner btw, local running hero, will still be doing it in another 20 years.
My Facebook newsfeed has been inundated with pictures of fish after my clubmates did that Wincle Trout thing. Weirdos.

Ha Ha. Shin splints beckon for this young man if he's not careful. He may WANT to run this distance but his body isn't strong enough yet.

And over 1:35 for a half? That's slow. I can say this having run 1:34:47 for a half marathon once.

:? He's gonna do himself some damage if he isn't careful. There's a reason why there's recommended distances for youngsters to run. He might be good but he has the rest of his life to run those sorts of distances, too much too soon and he won't be able to run for the rest of his life.

Feel a bit embarrassed posting here given that all my fellow amateur runners appear to have fallen by the wayside and its just me and the 3 hard core amazing runners left but anyway, had a great run tonight. 4 miles and it felt really good, still not fast compared to you lot but 1 minute 30 seconds quicker then when I last ran 4 miles (about a month ago) and way better then Sunday when I struggled round 5km hating every minute of it.

Well done.Do you think your squats and abs routine is helping? Stronger core, stronger runnning ?

It's possible, but I doubt it, mainly cos I have been skiving off doing it for quite a while... ;)

Really must get back on it.

How was your run tonight?

Big improvement GG, good running. It's worth the crappy feeling ones when you start to improve.
I did some 200m reps in a desperate attempt to remind my legs what spikes feel like 3 years after my last track race. 1500m in Carlisle on Saturday in the Northern League in the forecast pouring rain. A rude awakening beckons. Will do me good though. (I think)
