I watched about two and then couldn't hack it anymore, even for Zooey!

I think you definitely enjoy the TV more not having read the books.General Mannerheim wrote:incredible tv. the ending was so immense it overshadowed some other classic moments tho, such as the beetle monologue, Sansa's confession and the Ramsey snow massacre! great episode. so glad i havent read the books.
I don't quite think the hype is justified on GoT. It's just continuous shock value TV. Like Eastenders with boobs. It's good, and the last weeks was really really good, but it's not quite as good as it's made out, IMO.
Some of the acting is tip-top, Dinklage in particular, but some is fecking dire too. The Danny stuff is dull in the book but it's dull AND wooden on TV.

... & I've never, ever downloaded TV. I wouldn't know how to.CAPSLOCK wrote:Having SKY just gives you another 200 channels to describe as shitbobo the clown wrote:I exist off normal TV via Free view. I've never heard of half the stuff you guys talk about. I suppose this is why I'll often be found saying "there is NOTHING on TV tonight" and muttering words like 'disgrace' and 'outrageous'
If it wasn't for sport, theres no way I'd have it and I'd just download stuff
Music I download by the bucket-load & I guess it's the same process, but where is it to be found, is it heavy to download, what does it cost, does that mean I have to watch it off the laptop ? So many questions.

LF are sending me Iris this week. It's only been on my list for around two years. Quite looking forward to seeing it.

I was demonstrating Netflix to the wife's mum and sister and clicked on this programme to show them how it works. As you are no doubt aware, just about the opening scene of the first episode shows two nude women kissing in the shower. That was awkward!Gary the Enfield wrote:thebish wrote:Gary the Enfield wrote:After Breaking Bad I've decided to watch a bit of comedy for a while.
Orange is the new Black fits well.
good timing - the second series is not far off... I enjoyed that (though there were a few awkward moments watching with my daughter!!)![]()
I can imagine there were.

I must remember to go back to that actually!

I'm going to catch up on the Happy Valley finale. Fortunately no-one has posted spoilers for that like they did for Game of fecking Thrones!!!!! Then I'll watch 24, which is fun but has unavoidably lost it's edge.
This friendly is boring me. It's making me yearn for that trip to Rochdale in a few weeks' time.

Here you go, Bobo. Tonight's QT. An early night for me, I think.
David Dimbleby presents Question Time from Llandudno in Wales, with Conservative secretary of state for Wales David Jones MP, Labour's shadow minister for care and older people Liz Kendall MP, Plaid Cymru's Hywel Williams MP, assistant editor of The Spectator Isabel Hardman and the businessman Nev Wilshire, star of BBC3's The Call Centre.

Re: What are you watching tonight?
I've just googled 'The Call Centre' thinking it might be a comedy I'd not seen. It is not. Honestly, I'm pretty sure in 200 years time people will revere Chris Morris as some sort of Nostradamus. That basically looks like they've stolen the idea of The Bureau and set it in a Call Centre.

Llandudno's a fine town however.
It was in the theatre there, many moons ago, when there was a bomb scare. They made an announcement ..... firstly in Welsh and only after that in English. The few Welsh speaker in there, of course, began to get up and move along rows, past people unsure of what had been said. Sort of puts the "Welsh first" policy into stark relief when it's (potentially) life saving.
