As for Gove.. Well. Of all the load of departments the Conservatives planned to radically reform perhaps he was the most 'enthusiastic' and even maybe most 'successful' at carrying it through? Everyone involved in the entire profession seems to hate him but what I don't know is how parents have received the reforms.
Do you have a child due to take GCSEs in three years time when the fruits of his reforms were due to ripen or wither on the vine?
I do.

Mind looking at the standard of teachers we attract, I'm not holding out much hope.

You want Cameron and his chums out, Clegg and his ilk to disappear and all will be well ... so long as that doesn't let Miliband in.
I'm sure there's a flaw there, just looking for it right now.
UKIP, innit.
The above post is complete bollox/garbage/nonsense, please point this out to me at any and every occasion possible.

I like that. His wife's even German. So its factually correct too. Nazi's for the noughties. Yay.
You can judge the whole world on the sparkle that you think it lacks.

None do what they say on the tin, never really stick up for UK interest for fear of the cushy 'Blair' type retirements being made unavailable they lie, cheat, never talk straight and look after their pals, wankers to a man.
There have been exceptions and even if I didn't agree with their point of view I admired them for not being bought!

So now according to the Clegglet, bedroom tax is bad.

All the evidence I've seen suggests that bedroom tax is an absolutely terrible policy. So surely Clegg has a point here?Hoboh wrote:So now according to the Clegglet, bedroom tax is bad.

Re: The Politics Thread
It is awful, but I think Hoboh is whinging coz they backed it initially #Uturn. *Member of a coalition backs something it doesn't like whilst in government but then as the build up to an election starts says what it really thinks shocker.*
There'll be plenty of this from both of them over the next 10 months. It's not particularly edifying to see such flip-flopping, but the alternative, sticking rigidly to principle on all counts from the beginning would have lead to nothing getting done. Is just how coalitions work.

How can can you admit to liking a short arsed windbag like Vague, the man who would invade the world and bore them to death with his monotone!
Once Camoron and Georgie Porgie along with their harem have done one as well, the country will be a far better place.

Hague has a terrible face. It's too soft and too small. His nose is far too short and the gap between his nose and his mouth (where he puts his philtrum) is far too long.

Re: The Politics Thread
The principle is a decent one its application isn't. I know of a single young guy living on his jack in a 3 bed council house, no GF just his pizzas, that cannot be right, surely? Infact come to think of it there's also a bloke in a 3 bedroomed flat under similar circumstances.BWFC_Insane wrote:All the evidence I've seen suggests that bedroom tax is an absolutely terrible policy. Four bedrooms in 2 proprties.
The only point Clegg should have is one on the end of a spear, the man who would with a smile sell out his country, should be tried for treason.

Re: The Politics Thread
I don't even think it's a decent principle. It's diversionary tactics from their ineptitude to get enough houses built. If there is a two-person family living in a three-bedroom house, and a three-person family without a house, then the problem is not that the first lot are hogging an extra bedroom, but that there are two households and only one house!

Easier to demonise people who need help than it is to take a long hard look at where society is failing.Prufrock wrote:I don't even think it's a decent principle. Far easier to demonise poor people/immigrants/disabled people than it is to tackle the artificial inflation of the housing market in the South East by taxing people appropriately on ridiculously expensive houses that they're buying to not even spend the majority of their time in.
Sick to the back teeth of it. Bankers who caused the mess are carrying on as per usual whilst the right wing propaganda machine turns on folk who have a 2 bedroom flat with a spare fecking room...

I think you would find I actually agree with you on a lot of things, where we part ways is you seem to use the one size fits all when it comes to the 'poor'. There are far too many shits these days who play the system and an awful lot who think they have every right under the sun to get their ass wiped without putting anything in, god forbid actually having to do something.

Or are you suggesting a pre-emptive strike on the tree huggers to get more built?

There are people from all walks of society who play the system in a variety of ways. Why is the focus all on people with benefits, migrants and people with low incomes who depend on certain public services?Hoboh wrote:3 bedroom flat with 2 rooms spare actuallyBWFC_Insane wrote:Easier to demonise people who need help than it is to take a long hard look at where society is failing.Prufrock wrote:I don't even think it's a decent principle. They are easy targets because they don't really have a voice. The bedroom tax is an example of this. People have had to move out their homes, yes homes, that they've lived in for a long time because they can't afford to live there anymore. The theory of people living in appropriately sized housing is absolutely sound. But the issues arise where a dogmatic rule is applied without the ability to consider individual circumstances.
The population are being conditioned by a predominantly right wing media and government to blame sections of society that aren't in a position to be heard. Big business, the banking industry, multi-billionaire foreigners, tax avoiders and the like however can pretty much screw us over however they like with only the odd token gesture in response.

Nothing like the amount lower down the chain, that is why the focus is on them. If the government and previous ones had done their job properly, there would be no vacancies for unskilled migrants and I point the finger firmly at previous socialist setups and their union pals.
Public services are for everyone not just certain ‘poor’ groups, I’m pissed off with all the bloody grass and weeds growing in the streets, I pay tax and council tax and want them shifting.

Bollox, they usually shout and scream the loudest, its those of us in the silent majority no one listens to!
Houses are just commodities if you reckon otherwise why do families sell them up when someone passes away instead of moving in?
If you agree the principle how would you put it into fair practise?

Rubbish our patience is being sorely tried, so all rich people and bankers and business is bad then?
All dole wallers, scrotes, immigrants and the disabled should be shot to use your generalizations!
