Read and digest the posts above, Dan. They contain the sagest of advice.
What are these time constraints you talk of, by the way? Have you metamorphosed into Wokingham's Great Gatsby now?

Thanks BP, the books aren't so much as problem(although they are expensive for what you get), its more the exam fees alone would be £780 to retake the level.Burnden Paddock wrote:If you're still doing AAT Dan, have a look at the link below. It is about having choices Dan. I'm not rich or powerful, but I have a good life and that is down to having created opportunities for myself. I'm not career driven and have never worked ridiculous hours. I guarantee that if you limit your choices as you seem to say you will, you will have regret. Strive for something. It doesn't matter if you don't reach the goal, it is the strive that matters..bwfcdan94 wrote:Why are you saying money and power is the only way to be happy? as I have said before if I can afford to watch my football team( even if it means going without some of these so called necessities) then that will make me happy. What won't me happy will be basing my whole life around my career, work and qualifications.Abdoulaye's Twin wrote:Simply not true Dan. Dan, your football team might seem like it is enough to make you happy now but as time goes on I guarantee it isn't enough.
Football teams let you down are unpredictable and cannot possibly fulfil you during your life alone. By all means they can be a part of it, but you have to do things for yourself and you will not be satisfied forever simply having enough money and time to watch Bolton. We've all been through your position or similar in life and probably all thought similar. But ultimately very very few people haven't changed as their life moves on.

Yes, 2/3rds the computer marks immediately, 1/3 have to be marked by a college and then remarked by the AAT. 6 exams BTW.Burnden Paddock wrote:At AAT level? feck me. Aren't they computer based now? Pssst I don't actually live in Wokingham any more(to expensive). I have about 35 hours free each week, that would only leave time to work, travel to/from work and to sleep. 35 hours is no more than what I was doing each week the first time I took the course.Bruce Rioja wrote:Read and digest the posts above, Dan. People try to help you, you fckg dimwit. I have no idea why. They give advice & support and direction. The encourage you and try to pick you up when you're down.
But you never, ever bend or change. Listen to them. Your job, your 'career', your qualifications are vastly more important than whether Bolton win the Premiership, let alone have a friendly somewhere. Speak with someone, get counselling. Whatever the reason for your mis-focus get it sorted out ffs.

Dan, nobody knows but neither do you. All people are saying is that if you're looking to the long term you're better off with a qualification in your back pocket whatever the eventuality or whatever your ambitions might be.bwfcdan94 wrote:I know your not a fortune teller(maybe you are) but give me an example of what future large changes could happen in my life.BWFC_Insane wrote:Dan, your football team might seem like it is enough to make you happy now but as time goes on I guarantee it isn't enough.

Re: Today I'm angry about.....
£130 per exam? feck that! It would actually be cheaper to go straight to something like ACCA and study with open tuition and their free materials. You would only get 3 exemptions with AAT and still have to pay for them.bwfcdan94 wrote:Yes, 2/3rds the computer marks immediately, 1/3 have to be marked by a college and then remarked by the AAT. 6 exams BTW.Burnden Paddock wrote:At AAT level? feck me. You have a choice to resit AAT at a cost of £780 then start on ACCA etc, or jump straight to ACCA?? If your employer is happy with your work as it is and isn't insisting on AAT, its a no brainer. No employer will look beyond ACCA or a qualification at a similar level, to see if you are AAT qualified.

You won't be able to imagine it now but it will....bwfcdan94 wrote:I know your not a fortune teller(maybe you are) but give me an example of what future large changes could happen in my life.BWFC_Insane wrote:Dan, your football team might seem like it is enough to make you happy now but as time goes on I guarantee it isn't enough.

Perhaps you will meet a nice girl and end up living together and who knows? Or perhaps someone you know will get sick (I hope not) and leave you needing to take more responsibility.
Or perhaps the arse will finally fall out of the financial markets and we will all trade sheep and have no need for accountants....

The other thing you have to bear in mind is that even if you are happy bumbling along as you are forever the world doesn't sit still. Things move on. You may not even be able to. Firms might be delighted to appoint you in a junior accountant or similar position now but in ten years it may look odd. In twenty years if you are still applying for the same position and there are loads of freshly qualified bright 20 odd year olds up against you, fully qualified and more you might find yourself in the mail room or worse.....
Like I say don't worry too much about it all now. But whatever you do, remember that life moves fast and rarely stays the same. In ten years you will be a very different person to who you are now.

Dan. Get a list of courses at your local night school. Take up a hobby, meet people, learn another language, It isn't compulsory to drink, loads of people don't. Build a model, join a site for like minded folk, take up running, join a martial arts class. Buy a sketch book and get out for walks. Join a fell walkers club, go camping, buy a guitar.....
Get out of the house and live a little. You don't know how lucky you are to be your age with your life in front of you. Don't be wasting it feeling sorry for yourself...

Re: Today I'm angry about.....
In fairness, when he said he wasn't going to retake the exam for football, that was fecking stupid. When it comes to deciding whether or not to shell out £800 to do the course again, that's a proper decision. But Dan, ffs don't let football play a part. Also this job might not want it but the next one might. You might not want to do that one again, but there might be an alternative. The other thing worth bearing in mind is that you only failed one module, so clearly the course isn't beyond you. You've just got a block on that bit. Address it.

How come it's alright for surgeons of skill, talent and experience to excise various bits of one and then for the fxckers to be happy for the surgical world's equivalent of Dan to be left completely in charge of welding shut various arteries, veins, holes and artificial supposedly ephemeral orifices carved out by the barberous fxckers in the first place. Can't they at least come back and check for fxckin leaks. Cxnts.

Rummaging through the suitcase of an air-crash victim with the intent of generating pathos and sympathy for the victims was an insensitive error of judgment. Shooting down a civilian aircraft is culpable homicide. Arming poorly trained incompetent separatists with the ability to do this is vile.mummywhycantieatcrayons wrote:This is vile... http://www.huffingtonpost.co.uk/2014/07 ... 03781.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
