We become more like America by the hour. Private wealth, for the few, public decay, for the many.
You can judge the whole world on the sparkle that you think it lacks.

Re: Today I'm angry about.....
The sad reality is that however hard he tries the Eton toff may well win the next election because Miliband is retarded. I honestly hope we have a hung parliament and none of the parties manage to form a coalition, leading to another election and another election...(like whatappened in America on occasions), that will sort out all of these ignorant politicians , when they see Brittan leaderless for several months.Harry Genshaw wrote:I'm angry that you're all talking about car insurance when there's more important stuff going on like this. Has that actually ever happened in America though?

If thats possible, then yes it could quite conceivably have happened that way.

What the fxck is it with the beeb and brand clive myrie?
Why is it that whenever he pops up doing whatever minor voice over shite he is a master of, that I need to know that he is "Clive Myrie"?
"Hello, I'm Clive Myrie, and I shall be giving you some shite in the next minute or so... don't you just feel privileged?"
Well, No, actually Clive, I'd be just as attentive if it was any other cxnt telling me this shit, actually.

No, it can't happen. Elections are on a fixed basis and cannot be called because of a hung Congress. One or other House of Congress can be deadlocked but this will not cause an election.Lord Kangana wrote:Has that actually ever happened in America though?

Re: Today I'm angry about.....
I am currently learning a large choral piece that my old choir is coming down to sing in October. The thing is built around a load of tenor and soprano solos which they want me and the missus to do - the reason they are coming down from London... it is quite a lot of work - and a lot to learn..
anyway - two things...
1) On the tenor line - as i am sight-reading along - don't for no apparent reason suddenly change the tenor line clef from bass-treble on a page turn so that all the notes suddenly all shift off onto a totally different register and the piece is quite fast. how the feck do you expect me to incorporate a clef-change and adjust in my head to the fact that though the note on the previous page and the next page are - in fact - the same note - suddenly the dot has moved considerable down the stave!
2) Don't sneak in a quick key-change from 6 sharps to five flats - and have me ending one line on gsharp and on the next line record it as aflat - because in a fast moving piece as i am sight-reading - it obviously looks as if the note has changed when it hasn't - you bastards!!!

Journalists who assume that everybody's fecking stupid. There's an article in The Huff about a plane from Qatar needing an RAF escort into Manny Airport after the pilot had been tipped off about summat dodgy on board. Look at the caption beneath it!

Well thanks for that as I'd not a fecking clue as to which one might be which, you c*nt!

Re: Today I'm angry about.....
what is an escort for in this kind of instance?
is it to shoot the plane down if they disobey?? if not - what is the Typhoon's job?

Re: Today I'm angry about.....
I assume part of it is yeah, collateral damage should the plane look like its headed to a populous area. Probably also to just keep contact with it? Given the Mh370 thing where the plane just disappeared, having a Typhoon keeping visuals on it helps in that regard in case the plane's tracker is turned off.

1) to obtain 'compliance' from the flight's pilotthebish wrote:what is an escort for in this kind of instance?

2) to help 'select' an emergency zone in the case of a controlled crash landing
3) to warn closing aircraft including civilian aircraft (such as microlights on unregistered paths) or military aircraft (on practice flights) to steer clear
4) in the event of a catastrophic breakup over dense urban landscapes, to help 'prevent' any large chunks falling on crowded spaces
5) in the event of a takeover by hostile elements on the plane, to continue to obtain 'compliance' and to prevent overflights of 'strategic' landscapes.
