Yep. It's not just a love of the game, or even the club, that we supporters take when we go to the match. In one sense I am taking my whole family, stretching back to back of beyond (we have a season ticket for 1926 in our family - it belonged to my father's great aunt). There are memorial bricks to three of the dead of my family already - and to more of my friends - outside the Reebok. And I take the nine year old me, standing on the Embankment in 1958 with my dad, to each and every game. I like this. Very much.

I know there are many that would think this stupid or absurd, but following the Whites is a serious part of who I am.
Well said Will and I couldn't agree with you more, it's more than football, it's your history.

Today I am happy that after being dared by the Junior salesman(and eventually the whole office) the best part of £20, I drank a whole tin(cold) of beef and vegetable soup, straight from the tin. The look on their faces when I lifted the tin from my lips to reveal a completely empty tin, was one of pride. Nearly half a days wages, won in 3 minuites(which will cover my train fare to Watford) good times.

The best part of £20.00 = nearly a half a days wages? Seriously?

Yes I earn Minimum wage £5.03 an hour, I don't get paid for my hour break, I work 8am - 5pm. So yes half a days wages.

I have to take an hour break BTW and cannot be paid overtime, 40 hours a week, no more, no less.

I'd drink a can of cold soup for 20 dabs.

BP as I explained to Pru earlier, I don't have any self respect and if somebody offers me £20 to drink a can of cold soup, I am not asking myself why my colleagues are offering me £20, I am only concerned that is it worth drinking a can of cold soup for £20 and the answer is yes.

Well that's the pre match entertainment for Watford sorted. Twenty quid if you eat a tin of dog food, Dan. I promise to bring a good one (chappie or pal). I'll put 2 quid in :D

I'm happy about people. Our paralympic bowls team just took bronze in their event. Arms and legs missing these guys competed. One of the England team had no arms, delivered his bowl from balancing it on a bare foot and shook his opponents hand with his foot. What have we really go to not be happy about compared to such bravery in overcoming life's trials? Here's to you guys and gals.. :oyea:

... & then you go & spoil it all.
Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

In our little village there has been a tragedy
Dearie Dearie me, what a terrible tragedy
Mary Ellen Bottomley today should have been wed
It's a good job that she didn't, that's what the neighbours said

ch-
Mary Ellen at the church turned up
Her ma turned up and her pa turned up
Her sister Gert and rich uncle Bert
And the Parson in his long white shirt turned up
But no bridegroom with the ring turned up
But a telegraph boy with his nose turned up
Brought a telegam that read "I'm afraid I cannot wed"
And you'll find me in the river with my toes turned up"

The people waiting in the street they fairly bocked the road
they waited in the road, for the money the bridegroom owed
My heart is breaking Mary cried, so Jim the butcher's son
He ran into his shop and brought her out another one
Now when a day had passed they found the bridegroom hadn't drowned
They went around and found, he was sleeping safe and sound
His bride he should have wed there at the church that afternoon
Said there wasn't any wedding but there'll be a funeral soon

:D
