↑↑↑↑ Yep. Had that experience. There'll be a residents committee next and it won't stop till the place shuts down and 200 or whatever jobs are gone.
Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

Well, we have no mither from the folk in the Victorian terrace facing, or those in the 1960's houses on the other side. Only from the newbies who've bought these these timber framed things that were chucked up in a matter of weeks. Strange that.bobo the clown wrote:↑↑↑↑ Yep. Had that experience. Maybe the developers could have told them when selling them?

Re: Today I'm neither Angry nor Happy about....
It's a universal phenomenon, Bruce. I worked Saturdays and Sundays for a few years at a service station which was owned by the proprietor of a 'bus company. His main depot was about 50 metres down the road from the service station. Apart from the fact that I was already familiar with the area it reinforced the fact that there were no residences within a cooee of the place. The owner, by the way, was a local council alderman. Anyway, some many years later the 'poor' bloke had to shut down the depot and its workshops. Certainly it could be noisy and indeed the work in the depot often carried on all day and all night. So what? The business was there decades before the johnny-come-lately residents were. What ever happened to caveat emptor?
Re: Today I'm neither Angry nor Happy about....
There was a bloke who moved in next to The Night and Day Café in Manchester. Famous for its live music. And he complained that iy was too noisy and tried to get it shut down. Dick. I hope wherever he moves next someone moves in next to him with a massive drumkit.

I remember signing a petition about that - to renew their Ents licence, not sure how it ended up though.LeverEnd wrote:There was a bloke who moved in next to The Night and Day Café in Manchester. I've just suffered one of those profoundly uncomfortable experiences that Roger in his Profanosaurus describes as 'snapping the key off in the lock'.
I'm now sat back sitting at my desk making grimacing faces and little grunting noises as I try and either shift the centre of gravity of the load or build up a sufficient head of steam to blow it out like a torpedo (not at my desk, you understand, I shall of course retire back to the closet when the time is ripe).

Trevals club on Halliwell Road was a truly brilliant ( and regular for me) night out. Live music mainly in the jazz genre, great atmosphere and artists used to travel in to perform for free. The kindly folk of St Pauls Close complained about the noise (which only happened at weekends and rarely lasted beyond midnight) and got it shut down. A real loss, as anyone who went there I'm sure will agree.LeverEnd wrote:There was a bloke who moved in next to The Night and Day Café in Manchester. Famous for its live music. I finally managed to give birth to a healthy 5lb 10oz beauty about five hours later.

Despite the huge dump, this morning's weigh in came out at a stunningly disappointing five pounds over target weight.Gary the Enfield wrote:Does that mean you've hit your target weight now, slim?Lost Leopard Spot wrote:Yup...Harry Genshaw wrote:Sorry for your discomfort Spotty but. ...Lost Leopard Spot wrote:I've just suffered one of those profoundly uncomfortable experiences that Roger in his Profanosaurus describes as 'snapping the key off in the lock'.

Nope. Although the pain and discomfort lingers, my knackers are back to a normal size, thank you very much.Bruce Rioja wrote:Ah, but is that not accounted for by your oedematous testicles?Lost Leopard Spot wrote:Despite the huge dump, this morning's weigh in came out at a stunningly disappointing five pounds over target weight.Gary the Enfield wrote:Does that mean you've hit your target weight now, slim?Lost Leopard Spot wrote:Yup...Harry Genshaw wrote: Sorry for your discomfort Spotty but. ...![]()

Indeed. I'm going back to the quack tomorrow to see if I can exchange it for a better one. I'll suggest morphine and probably get aspirin mind you.Bruce Rioja wrote:That sounds like a poor deal.Lost Leopard Spot wrote: Nope.
