Moo usually writes much better English than the recent tweets.

Bolton boss Dougie Freedman has responded to comments made about the club by former Wanderers player Fabrice Muamba.

Following Tuesday night's defeat to Huddersfield Town, Muamba took to Twitter to criticise members of the current squad - as well as taking a swipe at Trotters chairman Phil Gartside.

One of the comments from Muamba described members of the Bolton boardroom as 'a bunch of idiots', a statement which Freedman thinks is 'unhelpful' to the club - especially after the support they showed to him after a suffered an on-field cardiac arrest in March 2012.

Speaking to The Bolton News, Freedman said: "This tweeting thing seems to be the rage and you're going to get ex-players and employees of the club putting their opinion out there," Freedman said.

"It's disappointing and particularly in this case because I know how fond the chairman is of Fabrice and when the situation came about, he was by his bedside.

"He's really upset by the comment because of what has gone on in the past but as far as I'm concerned, ex-players and employees of the club chipping in when they shouldn't seems to be common these days.

"It's something you have got to deal with and I know the rules.

"Ex-players always seem to be saying you should be doing this, or that, and that's fantastic. But when you try to put it into reality, it never works.

"Should we be playing two strikers? No, we shouldn't be playing two strikers.

"Ten thousands fans have four thousand opinions and you've got to try and stand above that and make your own decisions. I think we do that here."

Freedman's reponse was issued on the same day that quotes appeared in The Sun newspaper from Gartside, who hit back at further criticism from Muamba - who claimed he was owed money following his move from Birmingham City in the summer of 2008.

"We paid Fabrice 15, 16 months when it should have been a year, so he got more than he was contractually entitled to," Gartside said.

"The comments are very strange when I think back to holding his hand in hospital."

So because Garty held his hand in hospital Muamba's not entitled to an opinion on the laughing stock that Gartside and his latest fckup of a managerial appointment have turned the club into?

I agree, Freedman is right to defend the team. If Muamba has issues with the board, speak to them about it and I'm sure he'll get an answer. There's no need to do it publicly and there's certainly no need to insult the players we currently have. It's not as good as the team Muamba was in but they're all hard working professionals who deserve respect, even if they aren't world beaters. I like Muamba and I rate the job he did for us, but he's hardly in a position to criticise others because of their lack of footballing ability either.

He's a bloke in his mid-twenties posting (possibly whilst pissed) on twitter. I can see how Garty might be pissed off personally, but otherwise it's a non-story.

He's right, by the way.

I saw young Mr Muamba at Stockport train station this morning boarding the 7:54 to Norwich (which passes through Sheffield, Notts and Peterbrough, I think). I didn't have a chance to saw owt to him as I didn't notice him till it was too late!

Nice article. Free commercial for "Mrs Muamba's Sauce" business, but then why not?

Missed it. Did he opt for red sauce? Brown sauce? Or no sauce at all?

I'm an English, or at the very least Dujon mustard man myself, so I don't know how I'd answer. :?

Red, the big southern tart!
In fact he said red "because I'd really use one of my wife's sauces but red is the closest to them". A master of marketing.
Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

Right, well that's Mrs Muamba's sauces on the banned list then.
