Re: The Politics Thread
Interesting article that. I recall a programme on his conviction a few years ago, where he was trying to prove that the state wanted to lock him up and make an example of him. When he had a look through the government archives he found the opposite was true. The government had been putting pressure on the judiciary not to jail him as they didn't want him to appear as a martyr to the general public.Hoboh wrote:I love this guy

No flood eh? A town the size of Bolton!!! How many more towns will have to be built in the next five to ten years and that's just two bloody countries.More than a quarter of a million Romanian and Bulgarian nationals now live in Britain – a figure that has risen by almost 50,000 over the past 12 months.

Ha! The road in the Tories' "road to British recovery" election poster turns out to be a German road! :0)

Re: The Politics Thread
I am now just beginning to get depressed about the election... I mean, realistically, it's either Miliband or Cameron with or without a supporting cast of Clegg, Farage, and Sturgeon. Yep, depressed just about covers that pile of shit, in whichever combination they claim to represent me. Esp-fukin-eshly as my chief personal representive is guaranteed to be Mc-havinafxckin-laugh-man

Re: The Politics Thread
I've just realised that during the week of the election I'll be working in Frankfurt. I've never missed an election but I've always voted by presenting myself in person at a Polling Station. Can this sort of thing be done online these days?Lost Leopard Spot wrote:I am now just beginning to get depressed about the election...

Don't believe online as in "on the day" - can be done by postal vote I think, if you need one.Bruce Rioja wrote:I've just realised that during the week of the election I'll be working in Frankfurt. Those of you who rent (not sure if it applies to anyone else, doubt it) make sure you're registered at your address. They changed it so it wasn't automatically changed when you moved house, you have to do it now. Should have got a letter through but if not check on your local council website!

I'd agree even the weak and spineless aka Clegg can look good on them, Lord forbid he'd ever won an election we'd be all learning German by now!Lost Leopard Spot wrote:US style debates... Fxck em all off. Anti-democratic. They just embed the status quo.
Re: The Politics Thread
The Scottish ones were quite entertaining.
I like them, something a bit different.
There's always the chance that some gobshite in the audience could hijack it.
