It showed the solidarity emonstrations and did not justify the killings. It was however critical of Charlie Hebdo,
Which would be their right wouldn't it, if we're defending free speech?
You don't have to like what everybody thinks as long as it is not backed up by violence or threats.

Absolutely. I was defending Al Jazeera - they actually do a creditable job of news reporting IMHO.Lord Kangana wrote:Montreal Wanderer wrote:They showed a news opinion show which showed a not completely unbalanced viewLord Kangana wrote:http://blogs.aljazeera.com/blog/middle- ... ebdo-story

Who said it wasn't? Freely exercised speech isn't immune from the free speech of others. People are well entitled to say they should have covered it in a particular way, they just can't try to force them to.Lord Kangana wrote:Montreal Wanderer wrote:They showed a news opinion show which showed a not completely unbalanced viewLord Kangana wrote:http://blogs.aljazeera.com/blog/middle- ... ebdo-story

Nothing to do with their total intolerance then is it?In the Philippines, police said about 1,500 people protested in the Muslim-majority city of Marawi, with local politicians and teenage students packing the main square and some raising their fists in the air as a Charlie Hebdo poster was burned.
“What happened in France, the Charlie Hebdo killing, is a moral lesson for the world to respect any kind of religion, especially the religion of Islam,” the organisers said in a statement released during the three-hour rally, the Agence France-Presse news agency reported. “Freedom of expression does not extend to insulting the noble and the greatest prophet of Allah.”
In Egypt, the Islamic research centre at Al-Azhar, the Muslim world’s foremost authority, warned that the cartoons risked stirring up hatred.
The drawings “do not serve the peaceful coexistence between peoples and hinder the integration of Muslims into European and western societies”, it said in a statement.
This the lot bish likes posting about? Bit one eyed in their views are they not?The Muslim Council advised Muslims to react with “dignified nobility”. Its advice sheet says: “Our reaction must be a reflection of the teachings of the gentle and merciful character of the prophet (peace be upon him). Enduring patience, tolerance, gentleness and mercy as was the character of our beloved prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) is the best and immediate way to respond.”
It added that depictions of the prophet “cannot tarnish his image” and urged Muslims to speak out. It said: “Engage with others about your feelings. Speak of your love for the prophet (peace be upon him) and do not be shy to let your non-Muslim friends know your justified displeasure at the mockery that is made of our faith. People need to know how much love we have for our prophet.”
Re: Shooting in Paris at satirical mag
I don't think I have ever posted anything related to the Muslim Council, have I? what are you on about?

you said the muslim council were somehow the lot I often quoted - you were wrong, I have never quoted them
you asked if the muslim council are the same lot as the ISB - they are not (as reflected in their totally different names!)
what am I being "select" about?

and in what sense is "So there is a secret Islamic government in waiting then, seeing there are supposedly so few of them they certainly are hardly underrepresented are they?" a joke? is it missing a punchline?
