Not bad. However I don't understand as I finished ahead of someone else from my club after overtaking him on the run and yet he finished 6 minutes AHEAD of me. Stewards
enquiry I think.
One of the things that puts me off triathlons, apart from the swimming and cycling  , are those where everyone sets off at different times. As a spectator, and I imagine as a competitor, it's frustrating not knowing who's doing well and who's struggling.

You're recovery from injury is going really well G. Still think you'll need a good breakfast inside you after you make the next park run :P
Thing is we set off at the same time so not sure how that pans out.

And I'm very much looking forward to Breakfast after the run.

I'll be there, Gents. If for no other reason than to run this week's excesses off.

Sent this off to the club, btw, to see if they'll let us have some kit for the Speedo 10K.

Dear Daniel,

Please forgive my unsolicited email, however, Neil Bonnar and Marc Iles of the Bolton News gave me your name and email address, informing me that you're the best person to contact at the club.

A small number of us are running in the Gary Speed Memorial 10K that's to be held at Colwyn Bay on July 12th and plan to open a Just Giving page with any donations going to the mental health charity MIND.

The reason I write is to see if the club might, in principle, be prepared to donate any Wanderers kit (obsolete stuff's fine) that we can then have 'SPEED 6' put on the back of to run in.

Neil has said that he's happy to publish a picture and a few lines in The BN to bring both attention to what we're doing and to create a little good PR for the club.

I'm not sure exactly how many there will be of us just yet but I don't envisage it being more than around 10. However, at this stage I'm enquiring as to whether the club might agree in principle.

I look forward to hearing from you in due course.

Kind Regards

Zola Budd

Sounds good. You forgot to include our team name though, 'The Full-Kit Wankers'.

Saw a physio earlier about my calf and various other ailments. I can only describe the treatment as being like how I imagine having a steamroller go over my lower leg. Brutal, just hope it works. I feel cheated if I don't feel like crying when i come out of a treatment room.

Hardly running or athletics, but I've been asked to dust down the whites and turn out for a local(ish) village side. Why ever not?! :)

Anyone wondering what to do with that extra lacing hole in your running/walking shoes? This explains all|:

Saw this on FB last night. Will try it out tonight, if only to attempt to stop my toes banging on the front of my trainers and giving me blisters.

I did a 4 mile trail race in Haigh hall this evening. My first club race in several months - my vest was right at the back of the wardrobe :D - I didn't have the confidence to start messing with my laces as well! Came in at 28.29 which is only 29 seconds down on last years time. Happy bunny tonight :D

Tried the laces technique. Definitely felt better, but as I already had a blister on my big toe, i'm probably not in the best position to judge any overall benefit. I did manage to run 7.5k this evening, but had a very tight calf afterwards. Did some stretching and hoping that it will be ok for Saturday.

Good running dude. I was supposed to go and watch my sister run but couldn't be arsed. Stayed in and watched Animal house while drinking homebrew instead. I see Horwich dominated and won the team (b'stards!).
