The athletics/running thread

If you have a life outside of BWFC, then this is the place to tell us all about your toilet habits, and those bizarre fetishes.......

So you can either do the run as planned or, more conveniently, do it in Bolton.

Why not contact the club and see if they will let you start and finish at the ground (maybe even on the pitch) in Full Kit Wanker mode and then donate what you would have raised to the charity you were supposed to raise it for. Maybe get Kevin Davies and the local media involved for a bit of extra support. I'm sure a 10k route could be devised pretty quickly round there too.
Neil Bonnar said that he was happy to do a piece on it. However, and true to form, BWFC have gone quiet on it. Apparently, my house to the war memorial, to AB Asda, then to Tom Ashton's and back to mine is 10K, so I might put a barrel on. ;)
I'll get Mrs BP to switch the oven on and get baking!
I do believe that we have the early trappings of a 10K party!! :pissed:

LeverEnd. Don't bring anything other than your running gear. Anything at all - there's a love. ;)

I have a homemade cloudy cider planned for you Brucie. I've decided the pot of excrement (rum-infused fruit pieces) has to go. Not a huge fan, nor is my digestive tract.
Volunteer at PR Saturday so I can still feel virtuous while troughing a massive breakfast but rest my dodgy calf.

And GG, enter PR under a pseudonym!

Alternative to the Gary Speed 10k, maybe? A bit longer to actually get some training in too. In addition to the 'Bruce 10k'??

Oh, I'm not there this Saturday. I'm down at Taff Tavitt's again, and it's her village's beer festival too. Hey, what could possibly go wrong?! :pissed:

That looks a goodun, by the way, BP. Should be fairly flat too. We'll just have to be mindful of having our cars broken into, so I suggest LE picks us all up. 8)

Nah. Sounds dodgy.

And Bruce, I pride myself on burglar proof cars. (No criminal would be seen dead in it).

Maybe they're scared that they may be made to drink from the excrement pot as punishment?!

Was due to go for another trot this evening but the garden needed doing so viewed it as a bit of cross training. Save a place at the breakfast table LE :oyea:

Was again thinking of doing the Aberystwyth PR, however, TT's only just started running again after snapping her Achilles a bit back and asked if we could just go for a gentle jog instead.

All beards are pretty crap IMHO so don't take it personally ;)

Enjoy your boozing, I'm psyching myself up for a short run along the beach. Purely for the 'fun' of it. Not timing myself or measuring distance or anything. Just enjoying warm sand between the toes and trying to ease the guilt of eating too much rubbish this holiday. Someone play the Chariots of Fire music.

I see the Tour de France will be having Lance Armstrong riding ahead of the official riders "in aid of Leukemia" (& his ego).

Is this really appropriate ?
Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.
