The athletics/running thread

If you have a life outside of BWFC, then this is the place to tell us all about your toilet habits, and those bizarre fetishes.......

All 3?
Inspired by GtE I'm going to go and do a gym session and a 800m swim. Nursed my calf through 6 miles this morning. Then I'm going to try to avoid taking a self satisfied week off.
Now?! After a 6 mile run this morning?!
I was just about to say "nice one!", 6 miles is good going after recent problems. Would gym n swim as well not be overdoing it? Good luck

Just as well, you'd have probably got yourself injured again doing all that in one day!

I didn't mean to the run that far. Felt just about ok though. Gym was just core abs etc, stuff i need to stay uninsured. Nothing daft!

Had a lovely swim in Lea Valley White Water Centre

Just in my tri-suit so not as buoyant (and much slower). Still, 1250m swim and 2 x 1km loops round the complex made for a lovely pleasant workout.

Now then, I am in Bolton on Saturday and have a favour to ask. I want to do the ParkRun and have a lift there but not back. Is there anyone who could give me a lift back to Horwich afterwards? The lucky winner gets breakfast paid for. Now, who wants to take me up on an offer of unlimited sausage?

Try to dissuade him from taking you via the 'scenic' route. So to speak!

No worries, mate. Anytime.

Today I've mostly made the mistake of not getting today's run in a 06:00 when I was wide awake and it was nice and cool, electing instead to put it off until this evening. It's currently 32 deg C here. :?

Glad I'm not running. 35 in the shade. Hope it cools as I have 9km club race tomorrow. Not going to be pleasant.

I got myself through a lot of those freezing cold, icy, winter runs by telling myself that I was putting myself through it so that I'll truly appreciate the summer runs, and would be able to congratulate myself for having stuck at them. Hmmmmmm. :D

I said I'd never complain about running in heat after my two winter-long marathon training stints. But I do.

11 degrees and drizzly is what I love.
