It's about time somebody started this thread!

There ARE other teams(we'd have no-one to play otherwise) and here's where all-comers can discuss the wider world of football......

What's the story there? Lack of support or worse?
I remember his tragic suicide, very sad.

He publicly vilified him, alienated him and made him train with the youth team after dropping a clanger in which they lost.. That was the 'trigger' if you like

I think even Van Gaals worst enemies wouldn't blame him, but I do!

The death of Enkes young child and his constant fear the same would happen to his adopted child is the base line, but his treatment from LVG was dreadful

Hes an evil bastard, well suited to United

Agree. Not a great manager and alienates players everywhere he goes. I hope they win sod all this season for the rest of eternity. Their fan Base dwindles and anyone associated with them sees their dreams turn to dust as they are found to have broken many rules of the game are are forced to disband.
There.

I hope that helped.
Thank you Bobo. Captured my thoughts exactly.

His experience with Van Gaal was a contributory factor to his depression, but it was his young daughter's death in 2006 that led eventually to him taking his own life... It's amazing in some way that something that clearly affected him so deeply didn't interfere with his football.

As someone who had seen Enke play (very well too) for Hannover many, many times it was incredibly sad to hear what happened to him. He was a legend to the Hannover fans already and is always remembered by them. The road leading to the stadium is named after him now.

I wouldn't go as far as to apportion blame on Van Gaal for Enke's depression and death, but he does have problems dealing with certain players. I get the impression that he sees them as pawns in his chess game rather than people with emotions and feelings of their own. The best managers are able to balance this aspect with treating their players like human beings and making them feel as though they are part of a family.

Ugh, De Gea signed a new contract. I'd be surprised if there wasn't some sort of release clause in there but was looking forward to see him disappearing on a free!

Manchester United captain Wayne Rooney rates club and country team-mate Chris Smalling among the best three centre-backs in the world. (Manchester Evening News)

That appeared on the BBC Sport website this morning. I just thought that I would share it with you. :hang:

To misquote John Lennon "He's not even one of the best 3 in Salford".

The prick has all the credibility of Egil Olsen and that one at Spurs with his tube ticket, yet seems to think he's a modern day Rinus Michels, only with greater authority, the deluded cock!

Relieved to see that this set of fckg shysters are on TV in't Cup tonight. I mean, you'd not want them to lose that record of being on telly for the last 1,750 FACup matches would you ?

Sam did them again.

This is getting critical now. The more VdG loses the more likely they are to bin him. I'm entirely satisfied with his performance to date & would prefer him to stay.

PLUS the thought of that preening Portuguese cocktail replacing him & constantly being on our screens is unbearable. Not to mention the TV turning up outside Satan's Nest interviewing various Irishmen, Norwegians and people from Norwich who'll tell us he's the new savior.
