TW Members. Introspection on an Epic scale.

If you have a life outside of BWFC, then this is the place to tell us all about your toilet habits, and those bizarre fetishes.......

Very sorry to hear that. Debilitating diseases like that are a nightmare to have to cope with.
That's not a leopard!

thebish wrote:^ really sorry to hear that :-( My dad had Aplastic Aenemia - which meant he couldn't fight any kind of infection... - though he had it in his late sixties and was too old for a bone marrow transplant...

fabulous news about finding a match, though - he will be in my prayers...
All down to Anthony Nolan, finding the match. Because of his age and the seriousness of his condition, they've moved heaven and earth to locate one...Just fortunate that there is a match. The consultant told us on Friday that he didn't think we'd make it to transplant stage.

Blimey AG, it's really upset me just reading that, so Lord only knows how you and your family are feeling right now. I remember registering with the Anthony Nolan trust about 20 odd years ago. My thoughts are with you and your son, bless him.

Thanks for the kind words.

I'm going to be a bit of a cheeky bugger and ask if you'd check out my Just Giving page. The link is in my signature. Doing it as without Anthony Nolan he wouldn't be having the transplant and wouldn't be here.

Grunting, my best wishes.

Though lucky enough to have had nothing remotely that serious with our two I remember well the weak, helpless feeling when they were ill and my joints going oddly pins & needly one time when there was a possible diagnosis like that. Never felt anything like it & I'd wish it on no-one.

My absolute hopes & wishes for you and your wife and of course himself.

Fingers crossed Grunto - really sorry to hear your news. Puts "having a bad Monday" into a huge amount of perspective. Thoughts and prayers with you, young grunt and the rest of the family, mate.

Keep the faith, Grunt. When my younger son was 11 months old he had haemophilus influenza, with the possibility of meningitis. Three terrifying months in and out of hospital before he was 'cured' (it had longer effects). Not nearly as bad as what you are facing but I know how you both must feel. Good luck and best wishes to the little guy.

I fervently hope all goes well for the young one and all the rest of you, very serious illness is terrible for all involved made worse by being a mere babe in arms.

AG

I am truly sorry to hear about your news.

As some of the board members on here know I have some experience with a seriously ill child. We were in and out of G.O.S.H. for three years.

If you feel like talking to someone who has been in a similair position but detatched enough to be objective (even if it's nust to have a moan) I would be happy to chat.

Send me a p.m. if you want my details.

Thanks. I'm fine at the moment, as he's home. Will probably be different once he goes in, next Saturday, as that's the start of it all.

Again, thank you.
