Re: Sports Shield Investments Ltd
With the club no longer being supported by the current owner, surely that means he's relinquished all rights to decide who and what is a proper owner? If he wants to sit in his ivory tower and decide who gets the club, he should be forking out the minimum amount of money needed to keep the club running and avoid administration. If that tax bill isn't paid it'll be all out of his hands anyway when the administrators get their hands on the club. It also doesn't make sense for the club to be hanging on the precipice of administration because some business people would rather wait for the club to go into administration before buying its assets. From a sporting perspective it wouldn't make sense at all.
Personally right now I don't give a toss who inherits the club as long as it's someone who seems to be someone who has the best interests of the football club at heart. Surely the most important thing right now is to avoid administration, see the season out and hopefully a miracle will happen and the club will start to pick up some results. It doesn't look like any of the interested parties have megabucks. If they had - a deal would have been done by now.
Also, what are the Warburton's doing about it? What have they ever done for the football club?

We probably get a favourable deal on a thick cut wholemeal.

I've never liked Warburton's crumpets. There I've said it. I quite like Sainsbury's Taste The Difference crumpets, but my favourites are co-op crumpets.

Theoretically that sound pretty good. Trouble is, at this stage it's impossible to know what will pan. From hot-dog magnates, fried chicken flippers, curry kings, Russian oligarchs or those Bobo calls trouserless bottom oil sheiks, all sound the same at kick-off. The truth comes under "To be continued"...Borg wrote:

Si Deus pro nobis, quis contra nos?
Re: Sports Shield Investments Ltd
In an ideal world, yes, you certainly don't want any scoundrels running the club. But, administration, relegation, exit from the Football League? Is Eddie Davies (or his representatives) really going to allow this to happen after all the money he's spent and good times he created at the club? I'm really hoping that there is some master plan here, but the taxman doesn't mess around with football clubs any more as Portsmouth and Rangers have found.TANGODANCER wrote:Theoretically that sound pretty good. The longer it takes, the less chance Lennon has of buying anyone that might grab us a goal or two if a new owner made a bit of cash available for transfer funds. The situation is absolutely critical now and there's nobody giving the fans any kind of reassurance that this is being dealt with.

Until a deal is done, what reassurance can anyone provide?
We might have to accept that relegation could happen. Even with a takeover, depending upon timings and then whether there is cash available.
Most important is we have the future safeguarded and that needs a buyer completing a deal. Until that happens I don't think any reassurances can be given.

I've already accepted that it will. WtW and I have already agreed that we will renew, too.BWFC_Insane wrote: We might have to accept that relegation could happen

Apologies for incorrect comment on other thread. It seemed like 'The Retreat' was a private residence but Google maps indicate that the registered office of Sports Shield BWFC is on an old style industial estate in Woodford Green, Essex. Looks like a minimal cost company formation last week.Riviman wrote:In case you didn't see in the debt thread a new company name filed at Companies House, Sports Shield BWFC!

Curious also that Roding Lane South should have been misspelt on Companies House register but there are a lot of companies registered at The Retreat (but not necesarily in the same ownership)

I think even with a new owner, we have to expect massive cuts - I don't see anybody continuing the current trend. It's probably what we need.Borg wrote:

Our fans want stability and a secure future, but they also want success (naturally) but until everything is rebuilt and we're in the black we have to be realistic in that we may not get back to being as competitive as we once were.

Oh yes, indeed. The main thing is to make sure that the club can continue to run on the income it receives. The biggest losses are coming from the player's wage bills obviously. Yep, some bigger salary players might have to go. Maybe that's why they haven't been paid, so that they will walk away. Who knows what crazy things are happening.boltonboris wrote:I think even with a new owner, we have to expect massive cuts - I don't see anybody continuing the current trend. Borg! Good post and exactly my sentiments! Couldn't give a toss who buys the Club,I even expect them to make money out of it themselves. But first and foremost it is in existence because of us fans.Borg wrote:With the club no longer being supported by the current owner, surely that means he's relinquished all rights to decide who and what is a proper owner? Nobody's told me yet, are Bolton Wanderer Warburtons the very same people as the not tasty crumpets Warburtons, or is it a parallel dynasty (like, well for want of a better example, like the Earl Davies's kettle element magnates and the Super Kevin Davies's broken finger pain retention specialists)?Andy Waller wrote:Sheesh, someone likes to blow his own crumpet.Lost Leopard Spot wrote:I've never liked Warburton's crumpets. They spent £25m making a muppet advertisements! When we all know it could have been spent making the Bolton Wanderers muppets a bit better! They like being associated with BWFC,a bit like Walkers Crisps and Leicester. But no real interest other than that.Lost Leopard Spot wrote:Thanks.throwawayboltonian wrote:Yes - Brett is definitely sat on our board, vice-chairman maybe(?), and is involved in the senior management of Warburtons as an executive director.Lost Leopard Spot wrote:Nobody's told me yet, are Bolton Wanderer Warburtons the very same people as the not tasty crumpets Warburtons, or is it a parallel dynasty (like, well for want of a better example, like the Earl Davies's kettle element magnates and the Super Kevin Davies's broken finger pain retention specialists)?Andy Waller wrote:Sheesh, someone likes to blow his own crumpet.Lost Leopard Spot wrote:I've never liked Warburton's crumpets.
