Wouldn't that make them triplets?
You can judge the whole world on the sparkle that you think it lacks.
Yes, you can stare into the abyss, but it's staring right back.

Re: The breaking News thread...
I believe it alludes to the fact that the club were going to disclose where the money from the sale of the car park was going - a smidgen of transparency would be nice...but evidently not, it's all cloak and dagger stuff again.Dave Sutton's barnet wrote:Assume that's Nixon. Eddie Davies wants buyers to show have money for now and next season. Good idea. But still needs to reveal on car park sale cash.

throwawayboltonian wrote:I almost wish he was to be honest. The noise that journalists are making seems to suggest that he's in no rush to sell when the opposite should be true, at this stage at least. Admittedly Iles may well be pushing the interests of SSC out of frustration of ED's silence and inaction in recent seasons, but everything I've heard seem to suggest that SSC (and other consortia, including Stelios' last year) have met his requirements only for him to change his mind again at last minute; and in Stelios' case cut off all contact. I get that he wants due diligence and to make sure the clubs survives into the future, but we're now blindfolded up and marching to the firing wall so to speak. If he delays and changes his mind any more we could well end up ceasing to be a club, and all because he "cares about the club's future" - but apparently not quite enough for him to keep us ticking over until a sale is eventually agreed.Enoch wrote:It would appear, in a non-panicky way.throwawayboltonian wrote:all whilst he fannies around
I dunno, I'm just getting quite frustrated with it all now. I've previously been quite positive and hopeful but we've been hearing for weeks, or rather months, about ED's fickle nature with these requirements. He professes to care for the club but I now believe that he's causing us more harm through inaction and delays.
we only have speculation - some of it fuelled by Deano moaning to iles - that ED actually IS being "fickle"...
also - we have ages - the court gave us 5 weeks! (840 hours!!) chill!

... and for me that's where the panic fanny case stutters.throwawayboltonian wrote:but apparently not quite enough for him to keep us ticking over until a sale is eventually agreed.
We are ticking over and for all we know that nice Mr Davies may be set to keep us ticking over until such time as he finds a credible investor. Just because some fella puts his hand up and says, 'I'll have it!' doesn't mean they're worth a second glance. Even if it's someone we all harbour fond memories of.
The fact that we're shit on the pitch may not be uppermost in his mind. He may be of the opinion that we've been shit for long enough with his financial support, we may as well have a go at being shit without it. That doesn't necessarily equate to his letting the club liquidate.
That may all be shit too, but I suggest it's no less credible than anything else I've seen posted about the club's ownership issues on this board to date.

Re: The breaking News thread...
Dean Holdsworth quit as manager of Newport County IIRC in order to front the sports shield bid for Bolton Wanderers.
He's been to all home games since and has happily talked to fans he sees. The bid has been endorsed to an extent by Gudni Bergsson though only because he said Holdsworth would be a good guy to have involved.
In my view it is unlikely that this is one giant rouse to come in and asset strip the business. I accept it might be. But I see that as being unlikely.
They may have limited funds to invest. But perhaps they want to run initially at least a football oriented business that scales back on function and tries to re-establish the football club on a firmer footing.
They've hung around since November. Seemingly nobody with hundreds of millions to chuck at it has come forward or at least they haven't got very far.
Way I see it is that if SS have limited money to throw in they may still be the best option. I don't know where the money comes from or how much and that is indeed a big worry. But surely if they've knocked around this long and put money on the table ahead of anyone else they should be given proper consideration.
