Deffo looks like 4-5-1 to me. Would have put in Wheater for Knight, but apart from that looking like he's picked a decent line up, no shocks. Makes a change from 4-4 feckin 2. Has he seen the light?

Now I'll look a tit if it fails miserably.

Always has been the formation that I think would get us out of trouble, IF we play it right. By playing it right, I mean:

- Muamba and Reo Coker to sit back and be ball winners, and to cover the full backs if (when) they go out of position.

- Mark Davies to have a free reign and make runs into the box

- Eagles and Petrov to stick out wide and stretch their defence. Petrov HAS to take on Tony Hibbert.

Chuffed with the line up, imagine there wasn't much in between selecting Klasnic or NGog upfront. Hopefully being a former red NGog will have a little extra incentive then maybe Ivan would plus the fact he's younger and has 2 working kidneys like. Some players have a real chance to prove themselves tonight (Mark Davies hopefully in his preferred position in the centre and Eagles looking to cement a place on the right) Would also be a night for Tuncay to come on late and cause some mischief just behind the central striker. Yet again it's another make or break night for the team and i'm nervous as fook. COYW!!!

truewhite15 on the 27th December wrote:It could be easily resolved, as I've stated in the past, with the simple application of clear instructions and defensive organisation within the midfield. In all honesty, it's gotten to the stage now where we HAVE to play 4-5-1. Start stifling games in the middle of the park with Reo-Coker and Muamba, get Mark Davies in there to give a bit of mobility, Petrov and Eagles on the flanks to provide service to Klasnic who is the only one of our strikers who ever looks like sticking the ball in the back of the net. Reo-Coker and Muamba need to be told who is covering which side of the pitch, and stick to it. They also need to be told not to venture further up the pitch than 2/3rds, whatever the situation. Our centre backs can then play deep, because they're not having to worry about the opposition being straight on them as soon as they get the ball. The deeper defensive midfielders can then give the full backs the freedom to go on the overlap every so often. Back to basic football. Clean sheets first and foremost, start picking up the odd point here and there, and for crying out loud, give the captain's armband to a proper leader who won't let us fall apart every time we concede a goal.

How much better did we look with that shape and line up? Amazing stuff especially after that freak goal.

Never, for one second, doubted it. Not once, at all.

Though I was less surprised at Howard scoring than I was N'Gog

from my commentary - second half - apart from their freak goal - we bossed it and totally outplayed them...

The only downside to this night was that I was going to stick £2 each on us and Newcastle to win! Shit! Who gives a shit, Blackburn are bottom! Hahaha.

Some Blackburn bellend on Facebook had his status as

"Hahaha let's laugh at Bolton, what a goal by Howard pmsl"

I just responded with "Oh dear..." at 2-1 and he's deleted it hahahaha.

COME ON YOU WHITE MEN

Well, that was an unexpected win.

We can all laugh about Everton's goal as well!
