I was on the childrens high dependency unit today - so the reaction was rather more severe - and involved a restraining order...

My sentiments exactly. Dont mess around with a defence that brings stability. One enforced change ok., but changing 3 out of 4 of the positions just not on with me. If you have to bring Knight in, play 3 Central at the back (Ream, Knight, Mills) with Baptise and Mears playing as wing backs since DF does not like Mears as a RB.Prufrock wrote:PLEASE don't piss about with it that much!thebish wrote:and from the Manchester Evening News...
Centre half Matt Mills says preparation will be key for Bolton's defensive re-shuffle at Watford.
But Mills reckons manager Dougie Freedman has all bases covered for the trip to Vicarage Road.
On loan right back Kevin McNaughton suffered a hamstring injury during Wanderers' 3-1 win last time out against Millwall.
And while the problem has responded to treatment and rest during the international break he won't be risked as Bolton bid to extend their unbeaten run to eight games.
So, for the first time since September 28, Freedman will be forced to change his back four.
Alex Baptiste to right back, Tim Ream to left back with Zat Knight coming into partner Mills at the heart of the defence is an obvious switch.
But whatever permutation is finally used ex-City defender Mills says players will be comfortable in their roles.
"The manager is quite clever in that whenever we do defensive work the back four rotates all the time," he explained.
"And it's been like that since the start of the season.
"We are always working with different partners on a a day to day basis
"So, if it happens there is an injury then people are ready to step in and the work has already been done on the training ground."
Midfielder Darren Pratley comes into contention after a month out with a back problem. However, striker Craig Davies is missing with his own hamstring trouble.

Mears isn't injured and yet he can't make the team with all the injuries we seem to have?
Mears at RB, Baptiste at LB with Ream/Mills in the middle sounds like the obvious thing to do. Even if Dougie is shipping Mears out in Jan he can at least put himself in the window a bit and show everyone what he can do!
...or have I missed something?

To me, theres two choices and both see Baptiste at right back with Mills in the centre
A replacement left back from left field with Ream at CB or Knight in with Ream at LB
Didn't get round to asking Kellets mum if he was fit, so I'm assuming he's not, otherwise I'd gamble

Going to this one. How will I recognise forum members? Carnation in the lapel or Blakeman shirts?

My girlfriend apparently sat next to someone at a game who was looking at "that website I go to" on their phone... I'm assuming it was this one butTonyDomingos wrote:Going to this one. How will I recognise forum members? Carnation in the lapel or Blakeman shirts?

Without Dan's Blakeman shirt, we will just fade into the crowd.
Re: Three in a row? Pozzotively. No sting in this tale!
I think the unspoken rule here is "don't have Knight in the lineup."
Which is fine with me.
Which is fine with me.

mummy is quite a young 'un - and quite rightly he doesn't accept sweets from strangers... I'll bet he refused to come and see your puppies too...

But your usual MO would be to ask Kellet if his mum's fit. The lad's slacking. Very worrying.CAPSLOCK wrote:

BENCH: Lee-Barrett, Wheater, Knight, Eagles, Hall, Moritz, Ngog
Thought McNaughton was crocked for a few weeks? Has it been a few weeks?
