Nice to know I'm not the only one, if I still lived in Horwich I would certainly go to every game in all competitions

So .... I was in Horwich this afternoon and went to the ticket office at the ground.

bobo -"Could I buy tickets for the Crewe match next week please ?"
Pleasant, if ineffectual, young man "I'm sorry, they aren't on sale until tomorrow"
b - "don't you have them ? I mean, there will be 10-15,000 people here today. Let's call them a potential market !"
Piiym - " Yes, but they only arrived today. We've not collated them yet. It's Crewe fault".
b - "But that's a shambles."
Piiym - " Yes. It's Crewe's fault. They sent them late".
b - "why can't they be sold now ... I need 6"
Pity - "we haven't collated them yet"
b - "then get to your collating then you pleasant, if ineffectual, young man"

Also pleasant, more willing to help, middle aged lady arrives on the scene.
Apmwthmal - " yes, it's a bit of a silly one, what, with a game on. Let me see what I can do. ........ (she pads off & returns a minute later) ... no, I'm sorry. They haven't been collated. Could you call back tomorrow ?"
b - "not really. Is it absolutely not possible to collate just a few now. You aren't busy"
Apmwthmal - " It does seem a shame .... give me a moment (again she exits stage right, returning a minute later) .... no. I'm sorry. We can't do anything. It's Crewe's fault. They only arrived today"
b - "so I gather".

Only to be outdone on the incompetence stakes a few short hours later by Mr Freedman Flying Circus.

For those who are curious. I am NOT currently banned from the ticket office. I have no idea how I managed but I remained calm and polite throughout.
Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

... & it gets fckg worse. I ring up today for 5 tickets. They tell me they are only on open sale from Friday. Until then I would need to full membership details of each person I'm buying for to get 'priority' access, I don't have this.

They went on to say that the tickets only arrived tis morning (contrary to what Piiym and Apmwthmal told me to my face yesterday). On pointing this out, for no other reason than I felt like doing, this one said that I couldn't have been told that last night.

I referred to parties in breweries. I fear I am banned. Good job I told him I was Bruce.

You couldn't have been told that last night? LOL. The computer no doubt says so.

Yes .... as I was told it yesterday to my face, by two peeps, I felt it pertinent to point that out to this one. This was when he confirmed that I "couldn't have been".

The subsequent short discussion took an interesting turn and resulted in Bruce getting banned.

It's a sign. Don't go. Do something enjoyable instead.

Given it takes the club the best part of a week to post ticket what are the odds if I order them on Friday that they will arrive on Monday(as I am going straight from work on Tuesday), I am about to send an email to the club asking them what my options are, can I pay on the gate etc, unless they send some kid round on a push bike on Friday even those of you living in Bolton will struggle to get your ticket for Tuesday, why they didn't just send them straight back to Crewe given the appalling record the club has had for sending tickets this season I do not know.

If you buy them in advance and they don't send them early enough to make it by post they have them at the ground at the ticket office.

Or maybe it's too risky. Plus the expensive rail ticket and the fck knows what time you'll get home.

Maybe one to actually consider missing.

Already brought the rail ticket and booked the time of work as holiday as discussed earlier in the thread. I'll go even if I have to go in the home end but will send them an email tomorrow anyhow.

Is he sympathising with me, I have been given email confirmation from my line manager that I can take time off and have just seen on page 3 of this thread that I talk of train ticket. Bobo are you sympathising with me?
