Aye, £55 plus a fiver rip-off tax.Bruce Rioja wrote:£55 innit? But how much did you pay to watch Megson strap five across midfield, at home, against Hull, Blackburn, Fulham et al.CrazyHorse wrote:Fckin £60 a ticket though!

You do make for a pretty convincing argument; it's a no brainer when you put it like that.

We're talking the Stone Roses here. Would've been worse if we were talking James though.CrazyHorse wrote:Aye, £55 plus a fiver rip-off tax.Bruce Rioja wrote:£55 innit? Now I don't have anything major against the Stone Roses, I even like a couple of their songs, but lets be honest, sixty quid for a band that managed to knock out two albums is taking the piss.
If they played everything that's ever appeared on an album, they'd just about get 2 hours out of it, by extending some guitar riffs (or in the case of their second album, some silence)
I think Blackburn at home was a tenner and I think Fulham at home was likewise AND kids for a quid.

I do agree its total rip off. They are all at it though. Doesn't make it any better but its the price you expect to pay now.

They didn't all manage to knock out just two albums. If James tour and charge £60 at least they've got a decent volume of stuff to pick from (although there is a philosphical question as to whether (10 * absolute shite >= 2 * albums with a couple of half decent songs on them)).clapton is god wrote:Wash your mouth out!Worthy4England wrote:We're talking the Stone Roses here. I can easily justify it since I paid 60 quid to watch the semi-final....I haven't got through yet but my mate has some and I've been promised a ticket. Wooooo.

I think quality over quantity is apposite here. I have a good few James albums each containg about three decent tracks. Stone Roses first album is widely acknowledged to be one of the finest debut albums of all time, and the second got panned for sounding too much like Led Zep. I'd like to see how it's detractors might get on trying to play like Led Zep.Worthy4England wrote:[They didn't all manage to knock out just two albums. I like the second album, and there are a fair few very good tracks that aren't on either. Mersey Paradise, Elephant Stone, What the World is Waiting for etc.Bruce Rioja wrote:I think quality over quantity is apposite here. Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

Re: Today I'm happy about......
Today i am happy about a full nights kip with no wake ups, the chocolate doughnut hubby bought me for lunch, that i have lovely friends who have made me smile today, a daughter who now walks along holding on to just my little finger, trips to Arsenal tomorrow and tuesday, potential new chickens and that one of my best friends who has had a crappy year with his mum dying and other rubbish stuff has just come home from the most amazing few days holiday feeling far more positive then i have seen him in a long time.
ahhh and i'm dragging hubby into Lush this afternoon.
